And I've got two reasons to bet against them:

1) They are capable of mistakenly steering themselves into Ukrainian waters.
2) They might all be in a Ukrainian prison.

Eight boats full of Belarussian rowers were taken into custody by Ukrainian border guards after the team inadvertently cruised into Ukrainian waters.

I'm not much of a rower myself, but can it really be that difficult to keep yourselves in your own country? I'm not a great driver, either, but I've never mistakenly pulled into Costa Rica.

Now they all face charges in court. You'd think that this was the kind of thing that could be cleared up when people put their heads together and let common sense prevail, but you know ... I'd probably rather not take my chances in a Ukrainian court, either.

Just keep these things in mind when the 2008 Olympic Games roll around, and you're wondering if you should bet on the Belarusians.
