Bob Huggins has resigned after one year as head coach at Kansas State to take over at his alma mater, West Virginia, according to a local newspaper. Huggins replaces John Beilein, who left West Virginia this week to become the head coach at Michigan.Huggins leaves behind an extremely talented roster -- he is perhaps college basketball's best recruiter -- and there will be immediate speculation about whether his recruits will stay at Kansas State. The incoming freshman class was supposed to be among the best in the country, but it's highly unlikely those players will enroll at Kansas State now.
Kansas State now faces two questions. One, of course, is who will be the next head coach. We'll hear plenty of names tossed around, mostly names of coaches currently employed by mid-major programs.
The other question is whether hiring Huggins was worth it for Kansas State. Yes, he brought a lot of talented players to a school that hadn't had much basketball talent. But just as everyone suspected, he bolted as soon as a better offer came along.
Don't cry for Kansas State or for Huggins' K-State players, though: They knew what they were getting when they got into bed with Huggins.

Mike Smith, what up! I dont get why your hatin on Bob Huggins, he always stayed committed to Cincinnati when he was there, being offered the job at West Virginia and many other pro jobs, but kept loyal to cincy fans and wanted to win. The only reason he left is because the University was to cowardly to stand behind there guy! Should the st. louis cardinals fire La Russa?? Me and you both know that'd be foolish, so why hate on Bob Huggins? When your dream job opens up, sometimes you just have to go for it, i.e. roy williams...dont hate the Huggs, I hope he finally gets what he deserves and wins one with WV!! Whatcha gonna do now beasley and walker, transfer!!!

Whine Whine Whine. For the record, morons, the Mounties already win in the Big East in both B-Ball and Football. As for the ACC (Always Chokes Conference), we are too good for you guys. VTech and Maryland are already ducking us because they fear the butt-kickin they would get. Huggins is a WV guy and a solid coach and if he can recruit to Manhattan he can recruit to Morgantown. As for you WV fans complaining about a DUI, be careful when you throw the first stone!

I love how people can judge others by what they hear in the media. I am a former UC Bearcat who was given an opportunity to succeed by Bob Huggins. When all others turned their backs on me, Coach saw more. He has taken years of flack from basketball fans all over the country. Anyone can take an elite group of athletes and succeed. Coach takes the less fortunate and gives them an opportunity that most schools will not provide.

Bob Huggins was run out of cincy because of some anal-retentive school president who wants to leave HER mark of the university. There aren't too many families in this day and age who doesn't have a member who has gotten a dui. He is a great coach ( his record speaks for itself and his former players credit him with alot ). I look forard to huggs coming back to cincy for the home and home series. Nancy Z... eat your heart out.

You're shitting in your pants. If we won in the Big East with Beilein's recruits, imagine what we'll do with Huggins'. No, on second thought, you better not think about it. Forget we ever hired him. You'll sleep much better at night.

Correction. Bob Huggins was born and raised in Gnadenhutten/Port Washington, Ohio. He was a stand-out B-ball player for Indian Valley South, an "A" school and player of the year in the State of Ohio. His father Charlie was the coach. He went to college at West Virginia. So I think technically, he's a Buckeye.

So,fans from West Virginia can't hold a conversation without sinking to gutter comments? Are all fans from that state such low lifes?
I think both sides are flawed. Doesn't really matter anyway.
Neither team is going anywhere anytime soon. We have Billy D coming back for a three-peat!

Another person who does not get their facts straight. Last year in football I believe we won over both Maryland and Georgia Tech. Also if you look at how the Big East as a whole did in basketball you will notice that we stomped on the ACC. Also which conference went undefeated in the football games last year?? You guessed it the BIG EAST!!!
I'm not happy as a WVU alum that Huggins might be coming but there is nothing I can do about it. I can only support the players who stay and try and show the rest of the country how good they really are.

Bob Huggins has only one bottom line, his ass. Look at his record. He talks the talk to get better players. But, I think he would crap on them with out a secound thought. He is a smoothy, and any parent that would send their child to be coached by him better think twice.
Check out what past player think of him. It's always a parents chioce. What do you think his freshman think of him?

Hope you have better luck than we did. Sure, WVU will win a few basketball games...but will that make up for wreckless, rude, and illegal behavior from the coaches and players.
