Things are changing in the life of Jeff Garcia. He has a new team, Tampa Bay, and a new bride, Carmella DeCesare. And as you might expect, he's quite happy with both."I couldn't be happier right now," Garcia said last week in a telephone interview from Tampa, Fla. "I felt what took place in Philadelphia put me back on the map and let people know that I still have the qualities to play at a high level.That beautiful wife is the 2004 Playboy Playmate of the Year, so I think he'll continue to be happy in that respect. But I have my doubts about how things are going to turn out for Garcia on the field this year. Yes, he played very well in Philadelphia last year. But there's a reason the 49ers, Browns and Lions all decided to move on without him. He's 37 years old, doesn't move like he used to, and doesn't have a strong arm. He'd better enjoy his marriage, because he isn't going to enjoy the 2007 NFL season.

Garcia played Exceptionally well last year for my Eagles, and I suspect he'll play well with Tampa if they use the West Coast Offense. Perhaps his marriage will lay to rest TO's tasteless and juvenile comments once and for all. Good for him - wish you well, Jeff!

The reason the 49ers got rid of him is because his contract was based on production, and he exceeded expectations by so much (better TD numbers than Montana and Young) that they couldn't afford him anymore. And Cleveland and Detroit? Peyton Manning would struggle in those two cities. Put him on a decent team and he'll light it up - look for Pro Bowl #4 this year.

Did you see him in his final playoff game last year? The reason the Eagles didn't go to the Superbowl in 2006 had nothing to do with Jeff Garcia. He left it all on the field. I've never seen a quarterback take the shots he did and yet complete pass after pass. He'll thrive in Tampa Bay's West Coast offense, wouldn't be surprised to see Garcia and the Bucs in Glendale next year.
