Fan's View: Red Sox Win, Let's Climb Things!
In case you couldn't make it out to downtown Boston last night, this is what the scene looked like: a lot of chanting, a lot of drunk people and a lot of street lamp climbing. Seriously, who does that? He seemed to be in one piece after landing, but I half expected everyone to be too busy snapping a picture of him with their cameraphone to bother catching him ...)
There was also a little truck tipping (at least one pickup truck met the business end of mob mentality), but by and large it seems like it was a more peaceful celebration than in 2004. Continue after the jump for some more footage from outside Fenway.
It's all fun and games until the po-po breaks it up and sends everyone home ...

I'm a little disappointed in the fans there in Boston. I'd expect mob mentality in Atlanta or Detroit, though that would be more for basketball or football.

You think that was exciting? Wait until the parade through Boston's "Canyon of Zeroes".
It'll be good to have the trophy back on Wall street next year. Don't worry baseball. This is just temporary.

I'll tell you who does that... dumb college students who think they are invincible. The Fenway area is home to several big universities as well as a handful of smaller colleges. The legions of mature, weathered Red Sox Nation know better than to even go to that area unless they are actually going to a game! I'm a lifelong Boston resident and I have no desire to rub elbows with the teenagers and barely legal testosterone fueled idiots that feel the need to climb on light poles and tip over cars. I am, however, extremely psyched and happy the Red Sox have won. Wicked Pissah!

Two things
number 1: Congratulations Boston on winning.
number 2: Don't be idiots about it. Act like you have won it twice in the last 5 years not twice in the last 90 (although both are true.)
I am a Yankee fan.
