Notes on a trip to the NFL Scouting Combine.Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco is enormous. He says he was measured at 6063 (Combine-speak for six feet, six and three-eighths inches) and 236 pounds, and not only does he look bigger than that, but he looks like a young man who could still be growing. He's risen up draft boards as NFL teams imagine how easily he'll be able to see over opposing defensive linemen.
But Flacco said today that he isn't just a pocket passer. Asked about his 40 time, Flacco said, "Hopefully I get in the 4.6s ... and I expect to do the agility drills really well.
I'm skeptical that Flacco can really run his 40 in the 4.6s, but if he does, he could easily move into the first round of the draft, which would have shocked him a year ago.
"Was I thinking about being a first-round pick at this time last year? No," Flacco said. "I was thinking about being a draft pick, period."

Flacco is pretty fast. Best QB in the draft (I really think Matt Ryan will bust) and a little like Ben Rothlisberger.

tobrien28 is right: Flacco is deceptively quick and faster than one would expect. If nothing else, that was evident from the skills competition shown on ESPN a couple of weeks ago.
