Seriously, of all the ways to pull your hamstring, this has to be the most embarrassing way I've seen it done. Though it's also a supremely entertaining way of doing it, and I only wish I could find video of the incident as it was shown on television in Chicago. The White Sox broadcast replayed it over about five times, and I don't think Hawk Harrelson or Darren Jackson ever actually said a word because they were too busy laughing hysterically.
The White Sox haven't said whether or not Cooper will have to be placed on the disabled list, or which minor league instructor they'll have to call up if he is.

I remember when Amos Otis said that he almost got injured when he threw his helmet in anger and almost broke his finger in the process because his finger was in the batting helmet when he threw his helmet in disgust. Pulling a hamstring by throwing a baseball is a new way to get injured.

At a minor league game (A) I saw a guy hit a ball deep to right field. The outfielder jumped up in front ot the fence and and tried to catch the ball. he ended up loosing it from the heel of his glove kicked it off his foot before it hit the ground and the centerfielder dove and caught the ball before it hit the ground. The batter was called out, a runner at second was doubled up because he had kept running past third for a double play. The batter argued with the umpire and was thrown out of the game, He came back out of the dugout and took a ball and tried to throw it over the fence. It was going to clear by a foot but the right fielder jumped up and caught it clean this time.
The entire stadium was laughing at the batter and a loud cheer of "One more time" began causing him to raise a finger telling the fans they were number one with him.
