It's just sinking in to UFC fans that Forrest Griffin is now the light heavyweight champion of the world, and it's clear from watching his post-fight press conference that it's just sinking in to Griffin as well:
"You look at the champions: Anderson Silva, terrifying. B.J. Penn, terrifying," Griffin said. "Every other champion but me is pretty terrifying. I'm just a dude who's trying to put it together. But the one thing I've got is I'm going to fight until the end like a dog."
I think that's part of Griffin's appeal: He just seems like a regular guy, and yet now he's won back-to-back fights against maybe the two toughest fighters in the weight class, Rampage Jackson and Shogun Rua. So maybe he's not just a dude.

Dana White lost a big fan last night. It was obvious from the announcers and the pre-fight hype that the fix was in for Griffin to win. He all but got a severe ass kicking for 3 PLUS ROUNDS AND WON NO MORE THAN A ROUND. This was not a good night for the credibility of the UFC. Rampage was in on it too as he probably had no choice.

Forrest was the better fighter. In a street fight he would have won a lot sooner; but the bell saved Jackson. There should be no rounds or time limits.
In a boxing ring Jackson would have one, but winning a boxing match doesn't make you the better fighter.

First of all Jeff Mewan is retarded or blind.(don't really care which one)
Forrest pretty much dominated the whole fight, im a huge rampage fan but would not make excuses. Forrest is plain and simple a Beast, all of Forrest's fights he gets the crap beat out of him, the guy is tough. just because Rampage looked better in the face doesn't mean he won. He damn near had his leg kicked off. He couldn't stop forrest from coming forward couldn't keep him on the mat. Forrest hands down.

I am glad that Forrest Griffin won over Rampage(very fitting as shown by his recent conduct) Jackson. While Rampage embodies innate raw power, Forrest's success proves that true grit, hard work, and discipline can overcome most daunting challenges. America needs a champion like Forrest Griffin. Win or lose, I like and respect Forrest for the values he represents.
