Remember those rumors that were circulating a couple months ago about Affliction possibly staging its third MMA event on July 11, so it could go head-to-head with UFC 100? Obviously, that was a ridiculous idea that was rightly scrapped. But Affliction is doing a little bit of counter-programming this week, releasing the above video to hype its August 1 Trilogy card, featuring Fedor Emelianenko vs. Josh Barnett in the main event.

The seemingly endless saga of Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic's relationship with the UFC keeps getting more interesting, as it now appears that he's close to agreeing to return to fight Junior "Cigano" dos Santos at UFC 103.

That's quite a turnaround from what was being said about Cro Cop and the UFC last month, when Cro Cop returned on what was described as a verbal agreement, beat Mostapha Al-Turk at UFC 99, and then indicated he was set to sign with Japan's leading MMA promotion, Dream. Just hours after UFC 99 was over, UFC President Dana White was ripping Cro Cop as a traitor who had stabbed him in the back.

Randy Couture Doesn't Care, but Thinks Brock Lesnar Will Beat Frank Mir

Randy Couture has a big fight ahead of him against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 102, and if he wins he might just get another crack at the UFC heavyweight title, which will be decided in the main event of UFC 100, Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar. But Couture says he doesn't much care who wins that fight.

Bulls Run Faster Than Usual in Pamplona, 5 Hurt Getting Out of the Way

A faster than usual group of bulls raced through the half-mile path in Pamplona on the third day of the San Fermin festival Thursday, and while no one was gored, five people suffered slight injuries getting out of the way.

The crash above, from a motorcycle speedway race in Sweden on Tuesday, looks ugly: Denmark's Hans Andersen collides with Russia's Emil Sayfutdinov, and Sweden's Andreas Jonsson also gets caught up in it. But all three riders are reportedly OK.

The Nashville Police Department on Wednesday released the 911 call that Steve McNair's friend Robert Gaddy made to report the deaths of McNair and Sahel Kazemi, the woman police say killed McNair before killing herself.

Michael Schiavello is well known in much of the world as the English-language voice of Japan's K-1 kickboxing, but in the United States, kickboxing is a small niche sport. In an interview in advance of K-1's July 13 event, I caught up with Schiavello for an interview to discuss where kickboxing is now, both in the United States and the rest of the world, and where it could go if it capitalizes on the boom in popularity of MMA and on its U.S. television deal with HDNet. Although the UFC rarely labels any fight as one that guarantees the winner a title shot, all indications are that the winner of the UFC 100 fight between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson will get the next chance to fight UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

The UFC 100 Countdown show that aired Tuesday night referred to Bisping vs. Henderson as "an international grudge match for a shot at the middleweight belt."
