ANAHEIM, Calif. -The Los Angeles Angels have re-signed outfielder Bobby Abreu to a two-year contract.
The deal also contains a club option for 2012.
Abreu joined the Angels shortly before spring training last winter and enjoyed a standout year, batting .293 with 15 home runs, 103 RBIs and 30 stolen bases. The two-time All-Star has driven in at least 100 runs in seven straight seasons, tied for the majors' longest active streak.
Several Los Angeles teammates credited Abreu with changing the club's approach at the plate with his deliberate, patient at-bats. The AL West champions reached several offensive franchise bests this year.
Abreu spent the previous 2 1/2 seasons with the New York Yankees after 8 1/2 years with Philadelphia.

Poor Bobby, got a stiff neck. Surely he didn't get it by diving for any balls or running into a wall. Its no coincidence that the Phils starting winning right after Bobby left and took his big talent - no hussle attitude with him.
