ANAHEIM, Calif. -Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona is feeling better after a bout of food poisoning.
He said before Friday night's playoff game against the Los Angeles Angels that he had a "bad night" Thursday. Francona missed the pregame introductions for Game 1, although he was on the bench as the Red Sox lost 5-0.
"I just got flat-out food poisoning," he said. "Believe me when I tell you, I got rid of it. I just have a headache. I was miserable yesterday."

Francona is just like the "big bRAG machine" Boston Red Sox fans. Whine, whine, whine. Would you like more cheese with that whine? Oh yeah, you had food poisoning. It must have been the gassy beans, along with the clam chowder and Boston cream pie. Get ready to eat humble pie this year Boston Red Sox fans. By the way, Goodwill has racks full of David "Big Papi" Ortiz jerseys. There must be so many of them donated to Goodwill as they probably couldn't fit buried under the concrete at New Yankee Stadium. Funny how Big Papi's average has nosedived after that Red Sox construction fan tried to bury the jersey under Yankee Stadium. It was bad for Jimmy Hoffa as he is allegedly buried under Giants Stadium.
