TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -Quarterback Christian Ponder has bruised ribs and could miss Florida State's game Saturday at Clemson.
Coach Bobby Bowden said Sunday that coaches will have to see at practice this week how badly the sore ribs bother Ponder, who is having one of the best seasons of any quarterback in school history.
The Seminoles (4-4, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) need a win against Clemson (5-3, 3-2) to keep alive any hopes of winning their division and sneaking into the ACC title game next month in Tampa.
Ponder, who ranks third nationally in total offense per game, was injured early in Saturday's 45-42 win over North Carolina State, but played despite the pain.

I am sorry after being protected for years and I mean YEARS with players paid under the table by boosters it is time for Bowden to go!!! FSU is always just one player away from being great according to Bobby and now he is just hanging on hoping to pass Joe Pa for most victories. If he was still in his right mind he would see the program is in a free fall and step down!!!

I think it was very disrespectful to leak this to the press by the university. The man has earned more respect than that. This could be taken care of behind closed doors at the end of the season.

Bobby Bowden was a great coach. He is not anymore. He could look at his record for the last few years and with a open mind see he needs to retire for the good of the program. His mind is closed and he only is looking to be the winningest coach in college football. The best thing that could happen to FSU is for the NCAA to take away the vistories they have proposed. With no chance to pass Paterno he might retire and let FSU return to the glory years when Bowden was a good coach.

Bobby Bowden is the biggest reason I still watch and rut for FSU. I was a Vols fan until I saw Bobby coach and Prime Time play at FSU. Any sport should be played for the love of the game not for the all American dollar. I say let Bobby coach and all of the couch potatoes keep quiet. GO Bobby!!!!!! Go Noles!!!!!!!!!

Bobby Bowden is a great person but it is time for him to go. The football program is like a business and when it is micromanaged to the hilt, things start to suffer. The TEAM is suffering now and it is time for Bobby to go play golf and help recruit.
