Hampton beats Howard 37-0

HAMPTON, Va. -LaMarcus Coker ran for two touchdowns and Hampton defeated Howard 37-0 on Saturday night.
The Pirates (3-2, 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored 23 points in the second quarter, extending their winning streak to 13 against the Bison (2-3, 0-2).
Coker finished with 125 yards on 21 carries and Herbert Bynes was 8 of 16 for 204 yards and three TDs for Hampton.
Loren Patterson caught a 25-yard pass from Bynes to open the scoring with 1:17 left in the first quarter.
The Bison fumbled twice in the second quarter, leading to 10 points.
Following the first fumble, Jordan Stovall kicked a 27-yard field goal for a 16-0 Pirates' lead with 9 minutes left in the first half.
Hampton converted the second fumble into a 22-yard TD from Bynes to Reginald Hicks 59 seconds later.
Andre Williams finished with 71 rushing yards for the Bison.
