IOC monitoring case against China's 2000 gymnasts

LAUSANNE, Switzerland -The International Olympic Committee says it is following developments in the case of the two gymnasts on China's 2000 Olympic team who are suspected of being underage.
If Dong Fangxiao and Yang Yun are found to have been too young to compete at the Sydney Games, it would be up to the IOC to determine what to do about their medals. IOC spokeswoman Sandrine Tonge says the organization will take "necessary measures" based on what the investigation finds.
China won the bronze medal in 2000, and Yang was the bronze medalist on uneven bars.
International gymnastics officials announced Tuesday they have turned over the investigation to a disciplinary commission. A decision is expected by September, at the latest.
