Woods, Wife to Talk to Police About Crash

WINDERMERE, Fla. (Nov. 29) — Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin, are expected to talk to police for the first time Sunday, breaking a two-day silence that has only fueled speculation about his early morning accident, why he left the house at that hour, where he was going and whether an argument preceded the crash.
Sunday could deliver two bits of information — what the world's No. 1 golfer has to say about the accident or perhaps the 911 tapes that the Florida Highway Patrol said it would release once authorities have reviewed the call.
In its initial accident report, the patrol said Woods left his house, ran over a fire hydrant with his Cadillac Escalade and then smashed into a tree at 2:25 a.m. Friday. And Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor said Woods' wife told officers she heard the crash from inside their home, and used a golf club to break out the back window.
The FHP continues to investigate the crash as a traffic accident, refusing to get caught up in rumors.
Sgt. Kim Montes, the patrol spokeswoman, said Woods is not required to give a statement, only his driver's license, insurance and registration of the SUV, which was towed to a private yard with damage to the front and both back-seat windows broken.
"We still are going to move forward with our crash investigation," she said.
Police first tried to interview Woods on Friday, only for his wife to ask if they could return the next day because he was sleeping.
As they headed to Woods' $2.4 million house inside the gates of Isleworth on Saturday afternoon, FHP dispatch put through a phone call to troopers from Woods' agent, informing them that Woods and his wife would be unavailable to talk until Sunday.
"I don't know what was said," Montes said Saturday. "I mean, (Friday) we understood, and that's kind of normal. It is unusual that we haven't gotten a statement. This just delays us to getting closer to the completion of the investigation."
Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, did not respond to a text message asking why Woods was unavailable.
"Every 10 seconds these days, people update their tweets," said David Schwab, vice president of sports marketing firm Octagon. "People are just adding speculation and controversy. You need something to settle the ship. If he's not able to do it, find someone to do it for him."
Woods' news conference for the Chevron World Challenge, the tournament he hosts that benefits his foundation, had been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. It's unclear whether he would still play, or even attend the event in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
"We do not know if Tiger is playing; we are anticipating a great week of competition," said Greg McLaughlin, the tournament director and president of his foundation.
In a telephone interview, Woods' father-in-law, radio journalist Thomas Nordegren, told The Associated Press in Stockholm that he would not discuss the accident.
"I haven't spoken to her in the last few ... " Nordegren said about his daughter, Elin, before cutting himself off. "I don't want to go into that."
Woods' mother-in-law Barbro Holmberg also refused to address the matter.
"She doesn't want to comment on private issues like these," Holmberg's spokeswoman Eva Malmborg said.
Aside from occasional criticism of his temper inside the ropes, Woods has kept himself out of the news beyond his sport. In an October posting on his Facebook account, Woods wrote, "I'm asked why people don't often see me and Elin in gossip magazines or tabloids. I think we've avoided a lot of media attention because we're kind of boring. ..."
"He's an iconic brand, the platinum standard," said John Rowady, president of rEvolution, a Chicago-based sports marketing agency. "I find it interesting how he's being attacked by so many sides after how gracious he's been. But even the best of celebrities who try to do their best can be riddled with controversy."

All these big shot Pro's think they aren't going to get caught cheating on their wife. Now he has to live with this the rest of his life. He neds to get help and won't admit he has a problem..how naive did he think his wife was when it went into the teens of how many woman he slept with that was unbearable and I think he is the scum of the earth and two little ones at home..as the saying goes a "stiff pr has not conscience" no better words to describe him and taking pills no less. He ruined his goody two shoes image. I have no use for the dirt bag even if he were knocking on my door. He is not a man a weak person who needs help. Hopefillu he will get it. Iread another blog and said soimeone should come forward and sperak for him. He should come to the plate and apologize to his family and fans. He was a great role model for young golfers..it's just too sad!!

Elin, if you feel you are in some way responsible for causing injury to Tiger, confess it because it is going to get out. You were shocked and angry. That is understandable. Get yourself some help because this can be seen as domestic violence. Beating Tiger with that golf club is battery and you lost it, could have been murder. He is not worth it. However, know that you are in no way responsible for Tiger dipping his tool in other oil. These women he had the affairs with are low lifes and deserve to get whatever response they receive. These women intended to add insult to injury when they gave the emails and phone message to the media as well as the lady who hired an attorney. If you have not done something, you do not need an attorney.
Did someone question his wife to find out what part she played in all of this? Woods is absolutely wrong for stepping out on his wife. There is no reason for a man or woman to be unfaithful. If you feel you need to do this, LEAVE! Yes, the children will be affected. But if you are going to gnash at one another over and over, then the children will really suffer. Something is not adding up where his wife is concerned. There is something not being revealed where Elin is concerned. Also, women, leave other women's husbands alone. There are too many men in this world to become so obsessed with another one's husband. We need to stop acting like whores.

I think Tiger aka bear and hoochie -tail were acting like dogs in heat.He does not have to come to my home to eat, forhe loves eating the other white meat called hoochie-tail. Tiger brought this on himself, and he will get treated like all the other cheating scum of so call husbands. He can tell the police to go away, but we know the truth and so does Elin. I respect his wife, and more wives should do the same and to the girlfriends.

Maybe she is protecting HIM???.....Give him an out for hitting everything in his path. Unless you heard her actually say it, I don't understand how you can believe everything you READ. Wait til they tell their tale. Should be interesting, if we ever get to hear it.
As for all of the earlier articles, yes, I have read some of them, but I have been hoping to hear the "truth" from the horses mouth. Don't think that will happen tho....oh well...I am sure he will survive all of the publicity, he has too many "fans" that think he is above reproach.

And why may I ask do you think she was after him with the golf club?...And if she did admit to it, which I doubt, maybe she had a really good reason. But I certainly don't think that he is trying to protect her rep....maybe more like his own.

Since you were obviously there and witnessed how "out of control" the little wife was, maybe you could enlighten the world as to exactly what caused her to be so much in need of protection for her lack of control..... You must have trouble reading period. I just told you SHE said it.
