SAN DIEGO -Rookie Ty Lawson had 29 points, six assists and five steals to help the Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 119-105 on Friday night in the exhibition finale for both teams.
The Nuggets (4-4) played without Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups after coach George Karl gave them the night off, while the Lakers (6-2) were without 7-footers Pau Gasol (strained right hamstring) and Andrew Bynum (strained right shoulder).
Kobe Bryant played only 9:51, all in the first quarter, and scored six points for the Lakers, while Sasha Vujacic had 18 points.
The game was punctuated by eight technical fouls and two flagrant fouls from the replacement officials. The Lakers' Lamar Odom and Denver's Chris Andersen had to be separated after a rebound battle led to a pushing and shoving match in the second quarter.
On Friday night, the NBA's regular referees agreed on a two-year contract to end the lockout.
Five technicals and both flagrant fouls were called in the second quarter, which ended with the Nuggets leading 57-49.
J.R. Smith of the Nuggets had 16 of his 18 points and Kenyon Martin all 12 of his in the first half. Smith had seven assists in a game-high 40 minutes.
Lawson, a 5-foot-11 guard from 2009 NCAA champion North Carolina, scored 16 points in the fourth quarter when the Nuggets pulled out to a 107-86 lead with 5:05 remaining. He was 8 of 12 from the field and 13 of 16 from the free-throw line.
Andersen added 15 points and nine rebounds and Arron Afflalo had 12 points for the Nuggets.
Denver shot 57 percent from the field (45 of 79) while the Lakers hit 45.6 percent (36 of 79).

bozalian ????? I called last year the way it WAS !

ONE MO TIME , this year :

Whenever LA plays against teams that have good pg's
guess ???? did you watched last night game ????
Ty Lawson 5,11 a rookie so ???but PJ does not
believe in that , good for him cause he is got 10 , plus
1 or 2 ?? with the knicks as a player, gooooood but

NOT this year A. Brooks and Trevor Ariza will NOT
derail LA but guess ? WTF
Better yet , Orlando all the way and NOT because
of J. Nelson ( old Fish took him to school, last year)
but they have J. Williams that will take care of any
pg and has something to prove plus another ring
plus VC, plus Matt Barnes a team player by nature
plus Brandon Bass , plus SVG will show any coach
in the league that YES HE CAN , plus Gortat is
ready , plus, plus.
Bottom line, 8 -0 ?? what you see is what get
my take Orlando all the way , in fact they may
brake some records 72-10 ???? by tha bulls ?
NOSTRA-DAMUS can you digg it , bozalian ?
No, I don't think so.

Ref's allow Labron to take a "Three Step" running start, Lower his shoulder, and Charge into a defender, Every time he goes to the basket. Then they call blocking 95% of the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a basketball fan, it has taken all the fun out of the game!!!!

It's funny that the Denver Tattoos are complaining about the Refs. The Nuggets are dirty players who are definitely trying to intimidate the Lakers. Dontay should have been suspended for his shady antics.. Also, when Kmart was intentionally trying to break Gasol's arm, I didn't hear anyone from Denver complaining about that. What about Kobe, he gets fouled almost every time he touches the ball and gets only about 20% of the calls!

The thuggets fans drive me insane. Now you cry about calls. Why couldn't you cry when you were benefiting from the calls? Your team has benefitted from f-ed up officiating. And yes I know officiating in the playoffs has been horrible, I just think denver fans joined the real world a little late for my liking. DAVID STERN AND HIS MINIONS ARE RUINING THE GAMES.

One more thing for now , watch out for C. Billups
he knows now that LA is putting the brakes on
him , so he will be distributing his game a lot
better and smarter moves ( 4 points play) or
hitting Kobe in the back ,whichever comes first.

Bottom line, C. Billups has a higher IQ for the
game and single handed he can change the
configuration of game 6, bank on it.

LA played as a team, ABOUT TIME, keep it coming;
Lebron has to shoot 30 times he doesn't have no
choice ?
Kobe doesn't but he keeps insisting ????
but yesterday he didn't ( 13 times) and look
at the result;
Bottom line, called a decoy called whatever you
want ( team-player) but if LA keep playing as a
team ala Orlando or ala Boston they will a very
good chance for another ring.

Remember Kobe ,NOT ala Lebron ( 30 times)
but ala Bill Russell and LA (the organization
that has been giving you so much ) will get
another ring ( talk to Magic and Kareem)
TEAM-PLAYER as simple as that and
do not pay attention to those fans MVP, MVP
cause they build-up your ego and there you
go again and most of those fans don't know
BS about B-ball ,IT IS CALLED TEAM-BALL !
