BERN, Switzerland -Unbeaten heavyweight title contender Kevin Johnson has promised his daughter he'll beat Vitali Klitschko and become world champion.
Johnson made the prediction Friday at a news conference in Bern, Switzerland. He'll fight Klitschko for the Ukrainian's WBC belt on Dec. 12 in the Swiss capital.
Johnson, a single father from Atlanta, said he promised his 10-year-old daughter Fatimah he'll come home with the title.
Klitschko said Johnson would be world champion one day — but not yet. It will be the third title defense of the year for the 38-year-old Klitschko.

jakrdase i have no idea how old you are but with the comments you made here im going to guess you must be in your early twenties. the quitschkos are average fighters that use their larger then average size very much to their advantage. the one name you pulled out bowe was the worst thing you could ahev done. as far as pure talent bowe had limitless talent. his problem was he would get fat and lazy. the quitschkos problem had they fought him would have been he would have gotten up for them. an in shape big daddy bowe could have knocked vitali out and taken a fifteen minute break and thne knocked wladimir out.

Klitschkos people approached Johnson for the fight. Johnson was lined up to fight Arreola next month until this offer came along. I know Johnsons trainer and that is what he told me. If you were approached for a big payday would you pass it up??? I bet you wouldn't.

Although this may not be the majority opinion in boxing, a lot of former champions are lucky they didn't have to fight during this prime time for Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko. Had Vitali, and to a lesser extent Wladimir, fought in the '90s and '80s, many of those era's 'greats' would probably be nothing more than an answer to a triva question. Riddick Bowe would just end up as the next Sam Peter. Michael Moorer would have just stayed a Cruserweight, and we'd all have been denied Big George Forman's wonderful KO.

They all make promises. Like Tyson used to say, "They all have plans (to beat me)....until I hit them"..

Do people forget there's 2 Klitschkos?..I honestly don't see any real heavyweight fight right now worth watching unless the 2 brothers Finally step into the ring and fight eachother, and finally give the world a true heavyweight matchup, instead of throwing young up and comers into the gaunlet before they're ready.

Kiltschko is going to bury this guy. The Heavy Weight division in boxing is full of rubes and scrubs, and Klitschko is the only boxer in the lot. Good thing klitschko is a doctor because johnson is going to need a lot of help after the fight.
