Zorn: Campbell will start for Redskins vs Eagles

ASHBURN, Va. -Jason Campbell will remain the Washington Redskins starting quarterback.
Coach Jim Zorn said Tuesday on his ESPN980 radio show that he will stick with Campbell for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Campbell was benched at halftime of Sunday's 14-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Todd Collins played the second half, but neither quarterback was able to mount a touchdown drive against a defense that entered the game ranked last in the NFL.
Zorn said Campbell missed some open receivers against the Chiefs, but added: "I didn't give up on the young man."
Campbell went 9 for 16 for 89 yards and an interception. Collins, making his first appearance since the 2007 season, finished 6 for 14 for 75 yards.
On the season, Campbell has thrown for six touchdowns, six interceptions and has completed 65.6 percent of his passes. His 84.3 quarterback rating ranks 19th in the NFL.
The Redskins also made several roster moves, signing tackle Levi Jones, running back Quinton Ganther and defensive end Renaldo Wynn. They released punter Glenn Pakulak, and running backs Anthony Alridge and Marcus Mason.
Jones is the most notable addition, adding depth to an offensive line missing starters Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas. Jones was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2002 draft and played seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, but he had knee, back and leg problems in recent years and was released in May.
Pakulak punted in the last two games for the Redskins. He subbed for Hunter Smith, who is recovering from a groin injury.

Quarterback on a team representing Washington, DC. They couldn't
with Doug Williams in 1989, they sure as hell can't do it now. In 1989.
Doug Williams destroyed the Redskin Season. I know he was the QB on the 1988 Super Bowl Champs, but it was actually Jay Schroeder who
got the Redskins in position to get into the Super Bowl. He was injured
and Doud Williams relieved him. Schroeder was ready to take over
in the Super Bowl but the NFL nixed that. They wanted a Black QB
in the Super Bowl and Schroeder be damned. Wliiams was injured
in the beginning of 1989 and replaced. He came back to play against
the winless Cowboys and blew that game and the rest of the season
went south with him. Williams had just that one Super Bowl and they
glorofoed him as the greatest ever. All I remember is he was sacked
in the end zone in a playoff game against the Cowboys and that was
the winning margin in the game and that was at the end of the game
when he could have just run out the clock for a tie and overtime.
Back to Campbell, huh? Sure, why not? He has not improved one bit ( other that not tripping over his own feet at much ) over the years, is still the least intelligent QB in the league, and so far this year could not get a single first down against the worst teams in the NFL. I'm sure he'll do wonderfully against the Eagles. Enjoy this one Philly!
