LINCOLN, Neb. (Nov. 3) - The mother of New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain faces up to 20 years in prison on a felony drug-sale charge.
The Lincoln Journal Star reported Tuesday that Jackie Standley pleaded no contest Monday to delivery of a controlled substance in Lincoln, Neb.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 16, pending a recommendation from a drug and alcohol treatment center.
Lincoln police say the 44-year-old Standley was arrested in May after selling a gram of methamphetamine to an undercover officer at her Lincoln apartment.
The Yankees play Game 6 of the World Series against Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Judge not, lest ye be judged. I would hope concern for his mother would far outweigh his "embarrassment".

Sorry, he's 24 now. Two years doesn't change anything. He was in the "show" at age 22 and that is an accomplishment.

He had a tough childhood. He's overcome it. Look where he is, wearing Yankee pinstripes & playing in the World Series at age 22. Although I don't think he's a "punk", if he comes across as that to some anti-Yankee buttheads, his age should be taken into consideration. I know that most young men are punkish in their early 20's. And I also know from experience that girls mature faster than boys and just because they have passed into legal adulthood doesn't mean they are one. So back off. The kid has done very well no matter by what standard you measure it.

I always thought Joba was a punk. Now I know where he gets it from. How embarassing.
