Were I Vinny DelNegro, I would figure out who I needed least at the end of the game, and put him out there with one job...Put Rondo on the floor in a manner where he does not get up again. Time to send a message.
Rondo is a great pg one of the best besides pierce,kg and ray allen (100 years old between them ) is one the good players that boston have but rondo is a dirty player as well; Tom T. teaches " D" and his philosophy : stop the rival in the paint by any means necessary ??? especially in close games ? ( crunch time ) In the first game between LA and Boston Rondo jump in front of Gasol ( butt head in the chest) on purpose the refs didn't bought it and they called on Rondo but they didn,t call as a flagrant foul ?? Rondo went after Gasol to hurt him not after the ball and Gasol is lucky that he didn't get hurt bad, so happens all the time with boston business as usual but not this year we hope, one thing is for sure they are a dirty team, done.
I cannot believe the NBA. Thye are probably the most biased major sports league we have. What i always hear when watching a game is "Was he making a play on the ball?" Thats whats always said. Rondo was clearly NOT MAKING A PLAY ON THE BALL. He slapped the man in his grill to the point where he needed to have stitches. If this was not a biased league..Rondo would have to sit out a game just like D. Howard. I mean ..yeah Howard threw an elbow..and should be suspended, but he didnt make contact. Rondo certainly did..tell Brad Miller it wasnt worthy of a flagrant foul. For the next few weeks every time this guy eats something hot or cold he will have a painful reminder of Rondo..and the fact that the league he plays for is corrupt and biased.
I think you are way out of line with that ! Intent or no intent, what ever the reason to stop a play - a foul is still a foul. Think about, why do you need to make a foul? Because you don't want the opponent to score, right? Just that isn't and shouldn't be allowed in any kind of sports. But because of fame and money, even the coaches are encouring that. What for a creepy world !!! Either you have skills or you don't, so work on it and don't forget your character if there is any.
Rondo is a point guard and was not covering Miller. If this had been someone who was covering Miller and was close by, they probably could have grabbed him with both arms to prevent the shot. But the Celtics were fooled so badly by the play that there was no one there. Rondo had to come flying over from his position to foul Miller. This is where you have to look at INTENT. His intent was to STOP A LAY UP, not to hit someone in the face. He had no ill will toward Miller. He wasn't retaliating for anything. He simply wasn't in a position to put a bear hug on the guy. He had a split second to react and had to fly over and stretch his arm out. Wherever it hits, it hits. I'm sure that the face wouldn't have been his first choice. Let's also keep in mind that there is about a 100 pound difference between these guys. A little guy isn't going to stop a shot with a love tap.
This is WAY DIFFERENT than when a player hits someone after the play is over (like Howard did). Again, think about INTENT. If the play has already ended, the intent becomes INDISPUTABLE -- you meant to attack someone. That would be the type of situation that should warrant a suspension.
Now seriously folks, do you really think the only reason Rondo came flying toward Miller was to slap him in the face? Think about the game situation and try being honest.
All you morons that think the refs were in favor of the Celtics clearly didn'******* the game. Those idiots gave Ray Allen 2 unbelievable fouls in a matter of about 1-1/2 minutes to foul him out of the game. Neither of those calls should have been anywhere near a foul and he was gone with 5 minutes left in regulation. Gorden also hit Ray Allen in the head with a similar shot in game 3 that was not called flagrant. You are all just Boston haters because we have the best team in all 4 major sports and if Garnet was healthy, the C's would be repeating.
