DES MOINES, IOWA (June 20) -- Iowa offensive lineman Kyle Calloway has been arrested and charged with operating a moped while intoxicated.

Embarrassing Arrests

Kyle Calloway, Iowa - A college athlete picking up a DWI hardly registers on the embarrassment scale, except when you notice what this Iowa lineman was driving while racking up a 0.106 blood-alcohol level. What vehicle was this 315-pounder driving? A moped. Click through to read about more embarrassing arrests.

Jonathan Casillas, Wisconsin - Calloway wasn't the only college player who got into trouble on a mo-ped. This Badgers linebacker had a 0.15 blood-alcohol level when he was pulled over by a university police officer.

Kevin Mitchell, Oakland A's - The the 1989 National League MVP didn't stay out of headlines long after his retirement in 1998. In late 1999, Mitchell was arrested for allegedly assaulting his father during an argument over failed rent payments. The elder Mitchell, 56, and his wife were reportedly being evicted from a house they rented from Kevin and his grandmother.

Gary Payton, Milwaukee Bucks - They called him "The Glove" on the court, but Payton wound up wearing handcuffs off the court in 2003. The nine-time All-Star was arrested for allegedly beating up a male exotic dancer outside of a Toronto night club called 'For Your Eyes Only.' The case was dropped in 2007 when a judge declared he had reasonable doubt Payton escalated the verbal dispute with violence.

Jack Trudeau, Carolina Panthers - Trudeau, who enjoyed a 10-year career of NFL, surfaced in the police blotter in 2007 when he was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Trudeau had hosted his daughter's high school graduation party where liquor was served to underage individuals.

Danny Baugher, New England Patriots - Mitchell wasn't the only player who had a humiliating family scuffle. Baugher, seen here with the Rhein Fire of NFL Europa, was charged with assaulting his 54-year-old father in Aug. 2007. The location? A fast-food parking lot at 4 AM.

Kevin Mackey, Cleveland State Coach - Mackey's arrest in 1990 went down in history not for the charge, but for the unbelievable circumstances of his bust. The former hoops coach was caught by television cameras emerging from a crackhouse with a prostitute on his arm. Cleveland State fired Mackey a few days later.

Nate Newton, Dallas Cowboys - Newton, known as "The Kitchen" during his career, was found with 213 pounds of marijuana during a bust on Nov. 4, 2001. Five weeks after police confiscated the pot from his white van, the ex-Cowboys star was caught with 175 pounds more of it on Interstate 45.

Renee Thomas, left, and Angela Keathley, Carolina Panthers cheerleaders - The former Panthers cheerleaders were arrested in 2005 for allegedly having sex in a bar bathroom. Minnesota Vikings Love Boat scandal - The Vikings' 2005 season was rocked by an reported boat sex party which was allegedly organized by then-Vikings cornerback Fred Smoot, above. According to reports, the party was so huge the team flew prostitutes in from other parts of the country.

Iowa City police say Calloway was arrested early Saturday after officers stopped him while he was driving into a barricaded area.
Police say the 22-year-old senior was given a breath test, which registered 0.106. The legal limit in Iowa is 0.08.
Iowa City Police Sgt. Mike Lord says Calloway cooperated and acknowledged he drank seven or eight beers.
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said in a statement released by the university that he was “disappointed to learn of (Calloway’s) poor judgment.”
Calloway has started 25 straight games for Iowa. Ferentz said Calloway’s discipline will include a “game suspension,” counseling and community service.

I'm sorry but come on! Do you know how easy it is to hit .08? It used to be .10 but almost every state has lowered it, for revenue reasons, and drinking two beers in an hour an average person would hit 08. I am against drunk driving but these established levels are ridiculous.
