George Peterson claims not to know why Paul "The Punisher" Williams is among the most feared boxers in the sport.

And then he gives a perfect argument as to why.

"Walter Mathese was 25 fights with 24 knockouts. Nobody wanted to fight him. Paul fought him and stopped him. Antonio Margarito was most feared. Nobody wanted to fight him. Paul got in there and beat the breaks off of him. Then it was Winky Wright. This goes on and on," said Peterson, Williams manager and trainer.

"Paul will fight anybody from 147-to-160 right now -- whether it's Manny Pacquiao, or Miguel Cotto, or Andre Berto, or Shane Mosley. It doesn't matter," said Peterson. "I can't understand why everyone calls everyone else out, but nobody calls out Paul Williams. All that we want to do is to get their butts into the ring."

A two-time welterweight and one-time junior middleweight champion, Williams (37-1, 27 knockouts) will take on Sergio Martinez (44-1, 24 KOs) in a Dec. 5, nontitle middleweight (160 pounds) clash of southpaws in Atlantic City.

LAS VEGAS -- During the months when their fight was being negotiated, welterweight stars Shane Mosley and Andre Berto had words.

Berto said Mosley, who, at 38, is the aging veteran, "had some disrespectful things to say on a few interviews."

But on Saturday, following a press conference announcing their Jan. 30 matchup at Mandalay Bay, the two boxers finally met face-to-face.

And it was the younger Berto who believes that he got the best of their exchange.

LAS VEGAS -- Shane Mosley will fight Andre Berto, the 26-year-old WBC welterweight champion, on Jan. 30 at The Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, a source familiar with the negotiations informed FanHouse on Thursday.

A deal for the matchup has been in the works for months, and it will be announced here on Saturday, the same day as WBO welterweight (147-pounds) champion, Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 knockouts) defends his crown against Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs) at the MGM Grand Hotel.

For Andre Berto, the visions of glory are ever present in his thoughts and in his dreams, so much so, that he often finds himself throwing punches at imaginary opponents.

"The faces change from time to time. With the left hand, I see Shane Mosley. With the right hand, I see Manny Pacquiao. Left hook, I see Miguel Cotto. It's just that I have all of their spirits just haunting me in the gym," said Berto, the 26-year-old WBC welterweight (147 pounds) champion.

"They pop up from time to time in my sleep, too," said Berto, who is 25-0 with 19 knockouts. "I've already envisioned myself fighting all of those guys, and seeing the outcomes, seeing how the fight will end up."

Former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron will face Juliano Ramos on Saturday night in a junior middleweight bout in Roberto Clemente Stadium in Carolina, P.R.

Now a resident of Houston, the 30-year-old Cintron (31-2-1, 27 KOs) returns to the city of his birth to face Ramos (15-2, 12 KOs), a Brazilian who has not fought since losing by sixth-round stoppage to Mike Jones in August 2008.

It will be Cintron's first fight on his native soil.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) -- Andre Berto retained his World Boxing Council welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Colombia's Juan Urango on Saturday night.

The undefeated Berto's quickness frustrated Urango throughout their bout at the Hard Rock Live Arena.

Preferring to keep his distance, Berto landed repeatedly with lead left jabs to the head, and also was effective with rights to the head.

Urango continued to pursue Berto, but only found quick lefts and rights to the head for his strategy.
