Nogueira Brothers Celebrate 'Little Nog's' UFC Debut Victory

LAS VEGAS -- Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has won three UFC fights, including one for the interim heavyweight title, but he was just as excited to see his twin brother, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, defeat Luiz Cane via first round TKO at UFC 106 on Saturday.

FanHouse spoke to the most famous twins in MMA about "Minotoro's" stellar UFC debut and "Minotauro's" current health status. The video interview.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's Favorite Anderson Silva Highlight

Fight Magazine sat down with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Anderson Silva and got them to talk about each other, and Nogueira said his favorite Silva highlight came when Silva knocked out Tony Fryklund with an elbow in 2006. Video below.

Myriad of Behind-The-Scenes Issues Muddle UFC Heavyweight Title Picture

With heavyweight kingpin Brock Lesnar on the shelf for the forseeable future, the UFC is likely moving towards an interim heavyweight title future, but who exactly that future involves is anyone's guess.

FanHouse spoke to several sources in the last 48 hours, and it seems that the organization is no closer to having any type of clarity in the title picture as they continue to deal with illnesses, injuries and other issues that have suddenly crept into scheduling.

According to two sources close to the situation, the UFC's preference is an interim title bout between Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez to be held at UFC 110 on Feb. 21 in Sydney, Australia. But the UFC will have to wade through several difficulties in putting together such a matchup, which seems increasingly less likely to happen.

MMA Top 10 Heavyweights: Fedor Is Surging, UFC Is Reeling

Fedor Emelianenko demonstrated once again last weekend that he is the best heavyweight in mixed martial arts, beating a game Brett Rogers by second-round TKO on CBS.

Meanwhile, the UFC's heavyweight division is reeling: Champion Brock Lesnar is battling a serious illness, No. 1 contender Shane Carwin is recovering from a knee injury, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is suffering from staph infection. So while the UFC still has most of the Top 10 heavyweights in MMA, Dana White can't feel great about the heavyweight division right now.

My rankings are below.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Out of UFC 108 With Staph Infection

The January 2 UFC 108 show has lost its main event, as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has had to pull out of his fight with Cain Velasquez because of a staph infection, the latest in a series of blows to the promotion.

UFC 105 Main Event Fight Breakdown: Brandon Vera vs. Randy Couture

Every time Randy Couture steps into the cage, the mind can't help but wonder if this will be the last time. For years, the 46-year-old has made a very good living bucking the odds and overcoming expectations, but his UFC 105 bout with Brandon Vera will mark the first time since 2002 that Couture stares a possible three-fight losing streak in the face.

In Vera, Couture will face a mercurial talent who was once seen as a future superstar but has yet to reach the heights expected of him.

So how will the fight go down? Let's take a look.

Nogueira vs. Velasquez, Evans vs. Silva Official for UFC 108

The UFC announced Tuesday Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez and Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva as the two co-headlining bouts for UFC 108 on Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The winner of the heavyweight main event will determine the title challenger next in line once Brock Lesnar recovers from his sickness and puts his belt up against Shane Carwin.

The Evans-Silva matchup pits the former 205-pound champ looking to avenge his training partner Keith Jardine's knockout loss at UFC 102.

Strikeforce Main Event Breakdown: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers

Fedor EmelianenkoIn August of 1995, Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci penned a feature about pitcher Greg Maddux entitled "Once in a Lifetime." Wearing an Atlanta Braves uniform, Maddux also graced the cover of SI in that issue. The photo showed a focused Maddux a nanosecond after delivering a pitch. The caption read "The Greatest Pitcher You'll Ever See."

One line in the story has stuck with me for all these years: "Did you see van Gogh paint? No, you could respond, but I saw Greg Maddux pitch." Maddux, of course, has nothing to do with MMA (although he has attended at least one UFC event), but the premise of the story has everything to do with Saturday night.

Fedor Emelianenko is MMA's van Gogh, its immeasurably gifted genius, and Saturday, he will be fighting Brett Rogers in front of the largest American audience ever to witness him.

UFC Will Counter Fedor With Couture vs. Nogueira on Spike TV

The best heavyweight in the history of mixed martial arts, Fedor Emelianenko, will fight live on CBS on November 7, and on Wednesday the UFC announced that it will counter-program Fedor with the second- and third-best heavyweights in MMA history, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Randy Couture.

Spike TV will re-play the classic Nogueira vs. Couture slugfest from UFC 102 at the same time that CBS is showing Fedor vs. Brett Rogers, meaning UFC fans who missed UFC 102 on pay-per-view will get a chance to watch it for the price of basic cable.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Wants Brock Lesnar or Frank Mir Next

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira says he's ready to fight anytime, and hopes to fight for the title or avenge his most recent loss if he has his way.

"I want Brock Lesnar for sure," said Nogueira, who rebounded from a UFC 92 loss to Frank Mir by defeating Randy Couture by unanimous decision at UFC 102 in August. "I want to fight him. But I would fight Frank Mir also. That's my second choice."

Lesnar is scheduled to fight Shane Carwin in November, but Nogueira is clearly still a top-five UFC heavyweight, and fresh off his teammate Junior Dos Santos' dominating performance over Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 103, Nogueira told FanHouse that he's re-energized in his chase for UFC gold.
