Broncos Injuries Keep Mounting

Beating the Colts at the RCA Dome is a tall order for even the fittest of teams. That makes the Denver Broncos pretty major underdogs later this afternoon. Javon Walker is going to miss the game with a knee injury suffered against Jacksonville last weekend. Practice squadder Glenn Martinez will take his place in the lineup but Brandon Stokely and Brandon Marshall will be charged with replacing his playmaking abilities.

The defense doesn't look like it will be in much better shape. The team also signed safety Steve Cargile from the practice squad which would indicate that John Lynch, listed as questionable with an aching groin, is going to be out of action later today. Lynch's backup, Hamza Abdullah, has already been ruled out with a hip injury leaving the secondary in no condition for Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison.

With starting guard Ben Hamilton out for the season because of concussions the only facet of the Broncos operating at full strength is the run defense. That's not exactly a positive, they're giving up 166 yards a game, and when you take it all together, the Broncos could be looking at a serious beating at the hands of the defending champs.

Broncos at Bills: Gameday Injury Report

Denver Broncos:

Out - Guard Ben Hamilton (concussion) and tackle Ryan Harris (back).

Questionable - Tight end Stephen Alexander (calf), defensive end Tim Crowder (ankle) and cornerback Karl Paymah.

Going into week one, the injury news is relatively positive for Denver. As you can see by the report, they will not be missing any starters today, and that should bode well for the Broncos, both offensively and defensively.

Buffalo Bills:

Out - Defensive end Ryan Denney (foot) and linebacker Keith Ellison (ankle).

The injury to second-year linebacker Keith Ellison could prove to be damaging for Buffalo's young defense. He will be replaced by Coy Wire, a converted safety will very little experience at linebacker. And don't look the other way on the Denney injury either. The back-up defensive end has been very productive for Buffalo in the past, and losing his production will most certainly be felt.
