Rapper Jay-Z Is Down With Juan Pierre

It wasn't until I read Troy Renck's Denver Post All Things Rockies blog that I found out Jay-Z gave a shout out to Juan Pierre in a song. In the opening lyrics to Beyonce's Deja Vu, the first track in her latest album, B'Day, Jay-Z is featured and breaks out with this
I used to run base like Juan Pierre
Now I run the bass hi hat and the snare
As Renck pointed out, Pierre used that as his song of choice when approaching the batters box on Monday's game, and I fully expect he'll be using it for the entire season. Seriously, it's not often you get a shout out like that -- I mean once you make it into a Jay-Z song, you've like totally made it. That's some serious respect.

Here's a link to the music video if you want to check it out yourself, pretty sweet. As for Pierre, he got caught stealing on Tuesday night, which is just flat out unacceptable now that he has a reputation to live up to.

Is LJ 'Crazy in Love' with Beyonce?

Normally, I don't like playing the role of gossip reporter, or gossip anything. I am a sports man, and I like talking about sports and sports only. But since the Chiefs have a long break, the news is slow, and this is a bit too juicy to pass up, here goes.

"Head Chick in Charge" over at the Leave the Man Alone blog reports that Larry Johnson may be seeing Beyoncé, and not just in passing:
Not to be outdone by fly by night newbie Tony Romo, Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson may be claiming his dream girl. There is a vicious Internet rumor that Larry Johnson is hollering at Beyonce. The above picture was taken at Larry's birthday party last Friday. Yes, Jay-Z was there. And Larry is signed to Team Roc. However, Larry and B were reportedly engaged in long, intimate conversation. The pictures don't lie. I see chemistry. They both seemed to be quite pleased to be invading each other's personal space (I love the lean-in, Larry).
Perhaps Jay-Z has been too busy with his comeback and Budweiser commercials to notice his "Naughty Girl" "Ring the Alarm." He might want to "Check on It" and make sure he's not "Irreplaceable." If Beyoncé and Jay-Z can't "Work It Out," LJ looks like he's poised to become her new "Baby Boy."

I'll stop. That was my lame attempt at being an entertainment gossip writer (and yes, I did Wiki the songs). Just go to Head Chick's blog and check out the pics.
