This past weekend in Los Angeles, heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko defended his title against Chris Arreola, in a fight that came to an end in the 10th round. But not everyone was impressed with his victory. Boxing legend Joe Goossen -- who has worked with such stars as Sugar Shane Mosley -- says Klitschko "runs around like a little girl". We also hear from boxing's John Molina, and from Arreola, who has a message for his fans.

Chris Arreola Is America's Best Heavyweight Boxer, Now He Needs to Get in Shape

In an exciting, hard-hitting, sloppy eight-minute war, heavyweight boxer Chris Arreola beat Travis Walker with a TKO just 13 seconds into the third round. Walker whipped Arreola in the first round and knocked him down in the second, but Arreola showed a strong chin and a strong heart in coming back to knock Walker down twice in the second and again in the third.

Arreola is America's best heavyweight, but if he wants to be heavyweight champion of the world -- which would mean beating either Wladimir Klitschko or Vitali Klitschko -- it's time for him to devote himself to his conditioning. Arreola weighed in at a flabby 254 pounds for the Walker fight. To have a realistic chance of beating a Klitschko, he's going to need to be a chiseled 240.

Fortunately, Arreola seems to know that.

Wladimir Klitschko KOs Tony Thompson

Wladimir Klitschko retained his heavyweight boxing title belts today in Germany, beating the American Tony Thompson with an 11th-round knockout.

It wasn't a particularly exciting fight, but it was a dominant performance by Klitschko. I live blogged the fight and gave all 10 rounds to Klitschko before he finally ended it with a hard right hand to the chin in the 11th. The HBO punch stats indicated that Thompson actually landed more punches, 150-121, but Klitschko was much more powerful. The fight was never really in doubt.

Thompson was considered the top American heavyweight heading into the fight, but given his weak effort, Chris
Arreola has probably earned that distinction now. Klitschko entered tonight's fight widely regarded as the best heavyweight boxer in the world, and although he wasn't exciting tonight, nothing happened to change that perception. He's still the champ.
