Andrei Arlovski Trains with Greg Jackson

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has begun training with renowned coach Greg Jackson at his academy in New Mexico as Arlovski looks to end a streak of back-to-back high-profile losses.

With or Without UFC, Roger Huerta Ready for Next Chapter of Life

Roger HuertaEven though he had made mixed martial arts his life, he'd still hear the haters. He'd wake up in the morning to train, eaten healthy, sworn off alcohol, avoided relationships, traveled to events to soak up knowledge and listened to the people who'd already made it.

Slowly, he evolved into Roger Huerta, the fighter. Roger Huerta the person almost no longer existed. Everything was about fighting. Everything. He would tell his trainer Dave Menne, "Here's my life, take it," and then do whatever his coach told him to get better.

It didn't matter. The people who loved him still love him, and the ones who hated him...

Kenny Florian Talks Broadcasting Career, Changing Training Camps, Clay Guida

Kenny Florian has been hanging out recently with the TapouT crew on their nationwide tour, but next week he will head to Montreal, QC, to train at the Tristar Gym for his UFC 107 fight against Clay Guida.

FanHouse spoke to Florian on Wednesday about the tour, how he remains neutral while commentating on fights and why he decided to leave Team Sityodtong. The full video is below.

Roger Huerta Deserves Break From Fighting and Respect of Fans

Roger HuertaIt's hard to believe that after last night's split-decision loss to Gray Maynard, fighting could be in the rearview mirror of Roger Huerta's life. Back around the time that the UFC re-emerged into the spotlight of mainstream media, roughly around UFC 66, Huerta became one of the UFC's go-to guys as a front man and fighter. Now, he's likely on the way out.

Because of his decision, Huerta has faced derision and scorn from some fans and insiders, who would like to revise history and say he was never a "real fighter" and was handed opportunities instead of earning them. They say his decision to leave MMA for acting shows that he was never really dedicated to the sport. But the reality is so much deeper.

UFC 107: Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida

Kenny FlorianKenny Florian confirmed Wednesday that his next fight will come against Clay Guida later this year, saying on Twitter that he will step into the Octagon with Guida at UFC 107 on December 12. Florian told me two weeks ago that he expected to fight Guida at UFC 106, but the fight has now been pushed back three weeks.

It's not clear why the UFC decided to move Guida vs. Florian back, but the move makes sense. UFC 106 is already guaranteed to do huge business with Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin in the main event and Tito Ortiz vs. Mark Coleman in the co-main. UFC 107, which recently lost the previously scheduled main event of Rampage Jackson vs. Rashad Evans, is more in need of another bout between popular fighters.

Kenny Florian-Clay Guida Likely for UFC 106 in November

BRISTOL, Conn. -- Kenny Florian looks healthy and happy 19 days after his loss to B.J. Penn at UFC 101, and he says he's hoping to get back into the Octagon in November, with Clay Guida as his likely opponent.

I caught up with Florian here at ESPN's headquarters, where he moonlights as an MMA analyst for the Worldwide Leader, and he said he's feeling good and hoping he doesn't have to wait any longer than November to fight again. He said a fight with Guida at UFC 106 on November 21 in Las Vegas has not been finalized, but that he's optimistic it will get done.

Best MMA Fight of 2009 (So Far)

The year is half over, so we're giving out some MMA half year awards. Today we'll discuss the best fight of the year so far.

Time to Re-Think MMA Judging?

Diego Sanchez's split decision victory over Clay Guida at Saturday night's Ultimate Fighter Finale was one of the best UFC fights of the year, but MMA fans have been talking almost as much about the judging of the fight as the fight itself.

MMA Top 10 Lightweights: Eddie Alvarez, Diego Sanchez Impress

It was a big weekend for the lightweights in MMA, with Eddie Alvarez winning the Bellator lightweight tournament on Friday night (above) and Diego Sanchez beating Clay Guida by split decision in a fight of the year candidate Saturday at the Ultimate Fighter Finale.

So what's next for Alvarez and Sanchez? Bellator will have to work hard to attract some top-notch lightweights to challenge Alvarez in their second season (I'm hoping they sign Joachim Hansen), while Sanchez thinks he's earned a shot at the UFC lightweight belt (but I think he should fight Gray Maynard first). My list of the Top 10 lightweights in MMA is below.
