Add Gibril Wilson to the List of Injured Giants

At what point do the injuries in Giants camp become laughable? Not laughable as in ha-ha funny, but laughable as in "you've got to be kidding me!" Perhaps today's injury will be the straw that breaks that hilarious camel's back.

As if the Giants didn't have enough injuries to worry about, starting safety Gibril Wilson was added to the injury report and was limited in practice after suffering a quad injury. Although Wilson was able to participate in some team drills this afternoon, his status for Sunday's game is now very much in question.

If Wilson is unable to play against the Packers, the Giants will have to decide which rookie gets the start; Craig Dahl or Michael Johnson.

Ha-ha?

Giants Look Sloppy, Undisciplined in 27-20 Loss to New England

Forget about everything that happened tonight; this game was all about one play. On a 33 yard run by Reuben Droughns, one of the New York Giants was hustling unlike anyone I'd ever seen before. They shot up the field so fast that they literally passed Droughns on the way. So, who was this extremely intense player? It was none other than back-up quarterback J-Load, Jared Lorenzen! If you didn't see the game, I kid you not; Lorenzen sprinted up the field in effort to make a lead block for the very man he had just handed the ball to. What more can you say? It was very inspiring to see -- it's obvious Lorenzen is constantly giving his all.

Unfortunately, that was the only highlight of the night for Lorenzen. Although he's had a rather impressive preseason to date, his weak points were made abundantly clear tonight. He seems to struggle under pressure and holds onto the ball entirely too long. Many people will probably attribute that to the substitute offensive lineman, but J-Load certainly didn't help his case.

On the other hand, Eli Manning ended his preseason on a high note. He only played the first series, but was able to go five of eight (two drops) for 58 yards and led the Giants down the field for a touchdown. Manning really appears to be primed for that breakout season everyone says they are waiting for.

New York Giants @ Baltimore Ravens: Week Two Preseason Injury Report

Taking into account that it's the preseason, many of the players sitting on the sidelines tonight would normally be on the field if it was a meaningful game. With that said, I'm sure most fans would like to know who they should expect to see this evening. For that reason, I've done by best to create an accurate injury report -- official reports are not posted until week one of the regular season.

New York Giants:

Out: Wide receiver Plaxico Burress (ankle), linebacker Gerris Wilkinson (knee), center Todd Londot (ankle), long snapper Ryan Kuehl (calf) and safety Michael Stone (hip).

Questionable: Safety Craig Dahl (groin), wide receiver Marco Thomas (groin), Sinorice Moss (ankle) and Zak DeOssie (ankle).

Probable: Wide receiver Amani Toomer (knee), cornerback Gerrick McPhearson (groin), cornerback Corey Webster (hip), tight end Kevin Boss (shoulder) and defensive tackle Charrod Taylor (toe).

Giants Training Camp Notebook: Bad Day All Around; Various Roster Moves Made

Giants Training Camp Notebook is a cliff notes style post aimed at giving Giants fans up-to-date news about the most recent training camp practices.

- Tight end Darcy Johnson's season is over. Although original reports were quite positive, Johnson will require surgery on his right knee and will be promptly placed on injured reserve.

- The Giants made quite a few roster moves today, including the addition of defensive tackle Manuel Wright (Buffalo). They also signed offensive linemen Dan Parrish and Myniya Smith, while releasing defensive end Deke Bake, cornerback Travonti Johnson and offensive lineman Chris Patrick.

- Not practicing were Plaxico Burress, Corey Webster, Michael Stone, Gerris Wilkinson, Charrod Taylor, Craig Dahl and Gerrick McPhearson.

Giants Drop the Ball in Opener; Lose 24-21

Missed tackles, costly penalties, undisciplined play, inconsistency and game-ending turnovers. Does this sound familiar? No, we're not talking about the 2006 New York Giants; we're talking about the 2007 New York Giants -- at least after one preseason game.

While it may be far too early to become pessimistic, the Giants sure do have a lot of work to do if they want to compete this year. As I noted above, they were extremely undisciplined, the game seemed too fast for most of the players and the tackling was horrendous. Sadly, all of those things are a recipe for disaster.

Prior to the game, head coach Tom Coughlin said that he just wanted to gauge where his team stands and where they need work. I'll venture a guess and say he's not very pleased and will express that tomorrow during the team meeting.
