Ron Artest's Agent Denies Authenticity of Client's Verified Twitter Account

Ron Artest caused a bit of a flurry Wednesday night when he went on his Twitter account and announced he was signing a new deal. Of course it was all a joke/publicity stunt. However, the activity on his twitter account -- particularly the farewell to Houston tweet -- made Artest's agent David Bauman come out and claim that the Twitter account is a fake.

As athletes have been burned by fake accounts before, we have become pretty good at identifying fake Twitter accounts, and it seems Bauman is wrong about the account in question being a fake.

Ron Artest's Brother Makes Strong Impressions at Summer League

Thanks to the Bogster, Dan Steinberg, for being all over the Summer League covering the Wizards, we get an amazing profile of Ron Artest's younger brother Daniel today. Daniel Artest is quite a character you see, dude's close to 300 pounds, and still looking to get into the league at age 24. It's quite a fun read, but here are my favorite parts when asked how he is compared to current NBA players:
"Nobody, really, because I don't think nobody could do what I do," he told me. "A lot of people try to compare me to like a Chuck Hayes or whatever, but he can't do what I can do. I can shoot that ball. I can shoot that rock. I can ball. I can get it."
And then this part about his game diversity:
"They want me to be a guard, but I like playing like Barkley," he told me. "I'm fast enough to be a guard. Whenever I get the opportunity to play, you're gonna see how I play. I can jump and everything. I can hit the NBA three. I've been working on my whole game. We've been doing this for months. A lot of running, shooting drills. We'll shoot like 600 shots a day, every day, then we'll come back at nighttime and shoot up another two or three hundred more. I push [Ron] and he pushes me."
Man, I'd love to see him in action in a true NBA setting, if for no other reason than to have two Artests in the league. But David Stern might have a heart attack ...
