After Failing to Stop the Eagles, Bradie James Puts a Stop to Angry Fan Protest

Following Dallas' embarrassing end to its disappointing season on Sunday, there's been some talk that this could be one of the lowest points in the history of the Cowboys franchise. I'm not sure I agree with that, after all, there was the late 1980's, Dave Campo as head coach, and that home playoff loss to the Arizona Cardinals a decade or so ago.

This was simply an overrated team that stumbled along at a 9-7 pace while a few egos slowly, but surely, brought the team down from the inside. I mean, what did you really expect when you threw Terrell Owens, Tank Johnson, Pacman Jones and Roy Williams -- the receiver -- in the same locker room under the leadership and guidance of Wade Phillips? That's a recipe for madness.

Having said that, and even though the season is over in Dallas, there's still plenty of time to make this the lowest point in franchise history, and attacking fans outside the practice facility -- allegedly -- is a good place to start.

According to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram, a disappointed Cowboys fan by the name of Alan Lowe decided to voice his displeasure in sign form, by marching outside the team's practice facility with a pair of signs that read, "The Cowboys have no heart," and "Wade Phillips is an embarrassment to the star."

Linebacker Bradie James was not amused.

Terence Newman Blames Coaching Staff for Cowboys' Accountability Problems

As if things weren't bad enough for the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Terence Newman decided to jump into the Sweet Valley High drama on Friday, and started pointing fingers at the Dallas coaching staff for not setting an example of what it means to be accountable.

This comes a day after reports surfaced that Terrell Owens was jealous of the fact Tony Romo and Jason Witten are best friends forever, and that the two hold double-super-secret meetings to design plays that purposely keep the ball out of Mr. Owens' hands. Even though Romo has been throwing the ball to Owens more than any other player on the team in recent weeks. But, hey, in the immortal words of Homer Simpson: "Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, 14% of people know that."

Exactly.

Anyway, Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News has Newman's quotes from his appearance on ESPN Friday morning and, well, he's blaming somebody else for the team being full of guys that like to blame somebody else. Yeah, accountability.

Eight Years Later, George Teague Still Gets Asked About Laying Out Terrell Owens

The Dallas Morning News' Albert Breer takes us back to a simpler time, at the turn of the century, when Dave Campo was the head coach, and the Cowboys were absolutely dreadful. During Campo's reign of terror (2000-2002), Dallas won 15 times, but perhaps the most memorable game of his tenure was the 2000 Week 4 loss to San Francisco.

Terrell Owens, then a brash, young wide receiver for the 49ers, disrespected an entire region by scoring a touchdown, sprinting 50 yards to midfield, and slamming the football smack dab in the middle of the ol' Texas star. Good times.

Thankfully, Cowboys defensive back George Teague was right behind Owens, and promptly laid him out seconds after he completed his disgusting act. (Video courtesy of Breer. To skip the social commentary and get to the footage, start at about the 1:15 mark.)

Eight years later, T.O. now plays for the Cowboys and, by most accounts, is wildly popular. But Teague, who is now the coach and athletic director at Carrollton Christan, still gets asked about "the incident":
