Fedor EmelianenkoMMA Twitter universe had plenty to say about Dream 11 on Tuesday morning, with a great lightweight fight betewen Shinya Aoki and Joachim Hansen, and a not-so-great series of mismatches and freak shows in other fights.

In the main event of a sometimes exciting, sometimes bizarre MMA event, Bibiano Fernandes defeated Hiroyuki Takaya by split decision to win the Dream Featherweight Grand Prix Tuesday at Dream 11 in Yokohama, Japan.

Shinya Aoki won his rubber match with Joachim Hansen Tuesday at Dream 11, getting Hansen to tap out with an arm bar with just seconds remaining in the second round to win the Dream lightweight title.

Japanese MMA Legend Sakuraba to Fight American Boxer Rubin Williams



If I told you that the UFC was bringing Royce Gracie out of retirement and putting him in the Octagon with some washed-up boxer you'd never heard of, would you think that was a good idea? Probably not. But the folks at the Japanese MMA promotion Dream are doing something awfully similar, matching up the legendary Kazushi Sakuraba with American boxer Rubin Williams in an utterly ridiculous Dream 11 bout.

Bob Sapp: Two Fights, Two Days



Bob Sapp, the American football player/kickboxer/mixed martial artist/professional wrestler, has had one of the most bizarre careers of any athlete in history. And he's got another bizarre week ahead of him: On Tuesday he'll fight Sokoudjou in an MMA fight at Dream 11 in Japan, and on Wednesday he'll fight a kickboxing match in Hong Kong.

That's the video Dream is using to promote Tuesday's Dream 11 lightweight title fight between champion Joachim Hansen and challenger Shinya Aoki, and I think it does a masterful job of telling fans why this fight is a big one.

Tatsuya Kawajiri, Bob Sapp, 'Barracuda' Added to Dream.11

Fighting Entertainment Group announced Friday an opponent for Tatsuya Kawajiri and confirmed the participation of Bob Sapp for its Dream.11 card on Oct. 6 in Yokohama, Japan.

Kawajiri won both his MMA fights in 2009 against Ross Ebanez and Cavalcante, but was fed in a kickboxing boutin July to experienced K-1 fighter Masato, whom Kawajiri suffered a second-round TKO loss to, Kawajiri will be the heavy favorite this time around, being booked to face a wrestling champ from Guam with a 2-2 record, Melchor "Barracuda" Manibusan.

Dream Super Hulk Semifinals Announced, But No Gegard Mousasi

The Dream Super Hulk open-weight tournament will resume at Dream.11 on Oct. 6 in Yokohama despite the absence of Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi.

The promotion announced Wednesday for the semifinals that Hong Man Choi (2-2) will face Ikuhisa Minowa (42-30-8) and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (6-4) will receive an opponent to be determined because Mousasi has withdrawn due to an injury to his left shoulder.
