Kansas Wins, but That's Not the Story

The story wasn't going to be about Kansas winning. Seriously. The Jayhawks never had a chance of grabbing the headlines. Even with Bill Self's crew closing out an impressive Big 12 road win, ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla was still discussing the lack of impact this game would have on Oklahoma's NCAA tournament resume.

That's because Blake Griffin didn't play. And that's not to take away from Kansas' impressive 87- 78 win over the Sooners in Norman, Okla., but it would be completely unrealistic to think this is the same Oklahoma team with Griffin on the bench.

Fran Fraschilla Bashes Pac-10 Refs, Says, 'I Wanted to Run Into a Bathroom and Throw Up'

Former Manhattan, St. John's and New Mexico head basketball coach Fran Fraschilla, now a college basketball commentator for ESPN, isn't usually the type to trash the officials. But last night's Stanford-UCLA debacle was too much for him:

"There's one place left in my opinion where that still goes on, where the home team, or the team that's favored to win, gets the advantage. I hate to say it, it's the Pac-10," Fraschilla said. "I wanted to run into a bathroom and throw up last night after that call, because I felt bad for that Stanford team."

Earlier in the same show, Fraschilla referred to the foul called on Lawrence Hill for what appeared to be a clean block on Darren Collison, "the worst call of the season."

How bad a call was it? Even Collison said, "That was a clean block. We were fortunate to get a call on that play. I heard it was a make-up, but we'll take it."
