Tim Thomas Chases Sean Avery

Sean Avery Shines in Rangers Win

Sean Avery seems to be enjoying his return to New York, as the pesky forward chipped in two goals and drew a pair of penalties in the Rangers' 4-2 win over Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. He has now scored in three straight games, and has picked up five points since being claimed on re-entry waivers back on March 3.

Nik Antropov and Fredrik Sjostrom also scored for New York, while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 24 shots as the Rangers made up for their 4-2 loss in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Henrik Lundqvist Sets Milestone In Win; Does it Matter?

While New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur is closing in on the NHL's all-time wins record, another top-tier goalie in the New York/New Jersey market set a milestone of his own on Thursday night, as Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 19 saves in their 4-2 win in Nashville.

For Lundqvist, it was his 30th win of the season, which is kind of a big deal seeing as how he's reached that mark in each of his first four seasons in the league. By doing so, he becomes the first goalie in the history of the NHL to post four straight 30-win seasons to begin a career. Just another milestone on an already impressive resume for the 27-year-old Swedish netminder.

Newsmakers in the NHL: Rangers Finally Win, Canadiens Lose Again

Rangers 3, Islanders 1: For one night, everything was great at Madison Square Garden as the Rangers picked up a much needed 3-1 win over the Islanders. Scott Gomez, Nigel Dawes and Fredrik Sjostrom all scored goals in the win, while Chris Drury picked up an assist on each score.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 25-of-26 shots in the win, which is only the Rangers second in their past 10 games.
