Georgetown freshman Greg Monroe couldn't have been more of a Duke guy if he'd been born with a birthmark shaped like the Blue Devil and given the middle name Krzyzewski.

He's pocket-protector smart, graduating with a 3.75 GPA from Louisiana's Helen Cox High School, so composed you could yell fire in a theater and he'd tell you to get of the way of the Paul Blart trailer, and grew up among that percentage of the population dwindling faster than an analog television set, those who like Duke basketball.

Heck, the guy probably helps old ladies to their seat during television breaks.

Georgetown is on an eight-game winning streak, but the Hoyas aren't just winning games. They're absolutely destroying some very good teams. The latest example is a 71-53 win over West Virginia that Georgetown dominated throughout. Big wins have been the norm during this winning streak, as the Hoyas' average margin of victory has been 16 points. The Hoyas have now beaten Louisville, Marquette and West Virginia in a six-day span.

"That was one impressive Georgetown team," West Virginia coach John Beilein said. "It was a clinic. We tried hard, but we were certainly not on their level tonight."

Roy Hibbert led all scorers with 20 points and went 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Hibbert is a very good player who doesn't get enough attention because Georgetown's glacially slow pace prevents him from putting up gaudy stats. On another team, he might get player of the year consideration.

The game almost turned ugly early in the second half, when Patrick Ewing Jr. shoved Joe Alexander in front of the West Virginia bench. Beilein had words with Ewing and for a moment both benches looked ready for a confrontation. Eventually officials looked at everything on replay and didn't call any fouls.

It's amazing how quickly John Thompson III has turned this Georgetown team around from the 30-year low the Hoyas experienced just three years ago. Ken Pomeroy calls the Hoyas certainly worthy of Final Four consideration. It's hard to argue.
