Chick-Fil-A Is Coming, to Your GameDay

Home Depot remains the program's title sponsor (hooray, more free hard hats for the crowd), but the great, mostly Southern dining establishment that is Chick-Fil-A is changing the routine a bit.
The agreement [with ESPN] includes Chick-fil-A TV commercials during the show and a live shot of a Chick-fil-A fan interaction area. Event staff in "College GameDay" and Chick-fil-A co-branded uniforms will escort a crate carrying the mascot head for Corso's announcement.
Total cheese, but then so is the entire Lee Corso repertoire. This move should fit right in.

Chick-Fil-A now sponsors a bowl game (aptly named the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta) and will also sponsor the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff, an annual affair in Atlanta to begin the college football season. The normally secretive GameDay location dance is a wash as the article states GameDay will be in Atlanta for that game (August 30) during the first Saturday of college football this year.

Kurt Busch Parked at Pocono

AutoRacingSport.com is reporting that per NASCAR's order, Kurt Busch will be on the sidelines this weekend in Pocono. I don't know who they are or how good their sources are, but I'd say the info sounds about right.

Regardless of what happened on the track between Busch and Tony Stewart, his drive down pit road was unconscionable.

Certainly his crime is worth more punishment than say, illegal rear mounting brackets.

Busch deserves nothing less than a hefty fine, to be parked for a race and sentenced to anger management for his imprudent behavior--maybe Stewart can give him some pointers. They also ought to assign him to one of those Home Depot KaBOOM! charity projects. Maybe helping out the kids will inspire him to learn how to play nice with others.

Using the car as a weapon? Unacceptable. Stewart responds:

Reigning NASCAR Champion Intends To Keep His Title

Jimmie Johnson is already racing for the championship.

He went flying by my KOBALT Tools 500 pick with just 3 laps to go to score his 25th career win. Ugh! At least when Tony Stewart wins we get to see him climb the fence.

C'mon, Jimmie, do something! Anything.

Ok ... I gotta give it to him, he does do a pretty badass burnout. But really? If we're going to have to put up with this many wins, at least give us something to look forward to.

If I was less certain about Smoke's desire to put The Home Depot #20 back in victory lane at Atlanta Motor Speedway--or anywhere else--I'd be working on some theory that NASCAR conspired to ensure that the race sponsor's sponsored car on their pet team would win.
