Bitter Brett Favre Reportedly Called the Lions to Tell Them All About the Packers Offense

Craziness coming out of the FOX pregame show from Jay Glazer, as he's reporting that Brett Favre called up the Detroit Lions and basically offered up the Green Bay Packers playbook for free, because, well, he doesn't like the Packers.

Seriously, that's the report. And it's kind of insane.
The bitterness between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers was never in debate. Just how deep that went, or continues to go, is unclear.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Favre called the Detroit Lions' coaching staff earlier this season to share what he knew about the Packers' offense. Glazer went on to say on the Fox pregame show that Favre spent more than an hour on the phone. (For the record, the Packers beat the Lions, 48-25, on Sept. 14.)
If this story that Glazer is reporting about Brett Favre calling up the Lions to tell them about the Packers offense is true ... well, a few things.

For one, Favre is the most petulant child I've ever seen. Two, he's also a moron -- surely this can't be considered legal/moral. And three, the Detroit Lions are the worst team in the history of the NFL. Why? Because despite Favre's alleged help, they still got depantsed by the Packers. At least call the Bears or something.

Semi-Humorous Update: Howie Long is making "jokes" about the Lions looking "good" against the Vikings and asking if Favre gave them "Cliff-Notes too". It must be true!

Howie Long Has Another Stud Son: Meet Kyle Long, Chris Long's Younger Brother

We've previously noted that Oakland Raiders Hall of Famer Howie Long (now a Fox broadcaster and thespian) has a son, Chris Long, who could be the first pick in the 2008 NFL draft. But is it possible that neither Chris nor Howie is the best football player in the family? Howie's younger son is a stud high school lineman:

It sounds as though the 6-foot-7, 280-pound Kyle Long is actually leaning toward giving up football and concentrating full-time on baseball, either when he gets to college or possibly turning pro right out of high school. Howie has said publicly that he'd rather see Kyle play baseball. Either way, there's something pretty remarkable in the Long genes.

Howie Long's Son Has a Decision to Make

Kyle Long has a bright future in football. The soon-to-be high school senior has scholarship offers from all over the football world including Florida State, USC, Virginia, Ohio State, Florida and Notre Dame. His older brother's already a star at the University of Virginia. Life is good, right?

Not so much. He also happens to excel at baseball.
I have a ton of offers in football, but there's been some talk of being drafted in the first round out of high school next year. I'm deciding about which sport will provide me the best future.
Iiiinteresting. For what it's worth the latest I've heard is that he's headed to Florida State to play baseball. First round money and/or sweet nothings whispered in your ear by Jim Tressel, Urban Meyer and Pete Carroll can change things, however.

And what's this about providing the best future? Your old man's a former NFL'er, he's still collecting paychecks doing NFL pregame studio work and electronics commercials, you live in a nice area in Virginia and older bro Chris is a year away from NFL millions. You're set, we skeptical media folk and pundits need more believable justification than that.
