With attention spans dwindling, we forgo full game-by-game previews to give you the essentials you need to know about every contest this glorious NFL weekend. We call it The Once-Over.
The Washington Redskins aren't the worst team in the NFL, but they're certainly the most chaotic. And the most disdainful of their paying customers.
They flounder on the field and they flounder off it -- especially off it, where owner Daniel Snyder, a self-absorbed billionaire who views his employees as pawns to be manipulated and eventually discarded, is loathed now by fans who are among the most loyal in sports.
Consider this tweet Tuesday night from a fan who calls himself @kn0nothing: "Had to sneak in our Sean Taylor memorial banner last 3 games.''
Why? Because Snyder and his minions have banned banners, many of which were uncomplimentary to them and their 2-5 team.
Give Derek Anderson credit. He got better. He put that "15 incompletions in 17 attempts" disaster behind him with a much more quarterback-like effort against Pittsburgh Sunday. It wasn't enough to take the Browns off this list for the first time this season, but there are indications that Cleveland has settled on their guy, no matter how many of his passes bounce off the grass.

When the San Diego Chargers have the ball in the red zone with plans to run the ball, everyone on the planet knows that LaDainian Tomlinson gets the football. Especially, say Chris Jenkins and Kevin Gemmell of the San Diego Union-Tribune, when Tomlinson is playing like the Pro Bowl-caliber back we're so used to seeing. But, on Monday night, instead of calling Tomlinson's number, Darren Sproles got the carry.
The odd part about that was, this wasn't another one of those nights for Tomlinson, not one of those games where every one of his rushing attempts seemed so futile and fruitless and belied his long-held stature as one of the game's truly great backs.
"I don't know what to do" is a meme put forth by fans, coaches, critics ... anybody with a passing interest in the Washington Redskins.
In the wake of the most recent loss -- a hard-to-watch 14-6 showing against the previously winless Chiefs -- Jim Zorn has been stripped of his play-calling duties (his job title is sure to follow), Jason Campbell was benched (good news: he has his job back!), and the torch-and-pitchfork crowd is mobilizing.
And some of them are doing it while sporting a paper bag. Like this disgruntled fan, for example.
Fed up with one of your players? Eyeballing a player on the wire, but don't know who to drop? So Long, Suckers examines a few players widely-owned that probably shouldn't be.
Jim Zorn, facing a likely dismissal if his team dropped to 2-4, decided it was time for a change at QB, benching Jason Campbell in favor of Todd Collins. Well, the Redskins lost anyway, as your fantasy team likely did if you started Campbell as your QB1 (unless you were facing a Kerry Collins-led team, yeesh).
Luckily, you should have more options available to you than either Collins. Get rid of Campbell, owned in 58% of Fleaflicker leagues, as the Washington QB has likely flubbed his last chance to be an NFL starter.

Steve Smith is frustrated and it's not just the 2-3 start by the Carolina Panthers. Some of the problem may be that the Panthers' Smith is now "the other Steve Smith" as Steve Smith of the Giants has four touchdowns and 525 yards receiving, dwarfing the numbers of his counterpart in Carolina. But, the brunt of the frustration comes from his role in the Carolina offense and the fact that he no longer want to be a decoy.
Yes, he won the game. However, there's no stopping Derek Anderson from showing up high on the list of quarterback controversies every week. Right there with him is the guy Anderson inexplicably beat Sunday despite only completing two of 17 passes -- Trent Edwards. After all, if you can't beat a quarterback who couldn't even complete 12 percent of his throws, who can you beat?
The Washington Redskins went into Carolina Sunday and came home with a 20-17 loss. You know what that means? Another week of people calling for the respective jobs of head coach Jim Zorn and quarterback Jason Campbell. It's certainly justifiable to at least question Zorn and Campbell to be the leaders of a playoff team, but there is no way either one is the biggest problem on the Redskins. That dubious distinction lays collectively with the offensive line.
And, just think, the Redskins decided to upgrade an already solid defensive front by selecting Brian Orakpo in the first round. Michael Oher went 10 picks later, and he's having a very solid rookie campaign for the Ravens as a right tackle.
It's often said that a team with two quarterbacks really doesn't have any. With that spirit in mind, FanHouse will keep you updated weekly on NFL teams facing potential quarterback controversies.
For the Cleveland Browns, Sunday was at least a respectable performance. Now it's time for them to build on that. But have the 0-4 Browns settled on a starting quarterback?
