How Did Mickelson Do On 'Entourage'?

I know that Entourage has reached the comedy level of a sleeping dog, but one of the brighter spots of this season was getting to watch Phil Mickelson attempt to act, and not in a Crowne Plaza kind of way.

Last night, Lefty was the focal point in an episode based around Ari Gold screaming at an opponent on the golf course who employs Phil as his professional guide. Not to spoil it for those that plan to On Demand it, but the cheesy Phil smile went to a whole new level.

Mickelson is introduced by actor Paul Ben-Victor, playing movie executive Alan, and strolls up to Jeremy Piven with a line that would make his daughter's ears bleed. "Is this whose ass we're going to kick today?" Mickelson, NO!

Phil Mickelson Plays Colonial, Since He Was in Dallas Filming Entourage Anyway

I'm too big a fan of Phil Mickelson to admonish him for spending time on superfluous celebrity stuff. Not to mention, he's still second in the world, second in FedEx Cup points and fifth in scoring average through 40 plus rounds.

So if he wants to take two days to film an episode of Entourage -- and just happen to play in the Colonial while he is in Dallas -- it's fine by me.

Getting Phil Mickelson to squeeze golf into his acting schedule was quite a coup for Colonial's title sponsor, Crowne Plaza.

His face has been featured prominently in ads during golf telecasts. And before arriving at Colonial, he spent two days on the set of Entourage , taping an episode of the popular HBO show.

'It's edgy; the language is a little rough,' Mickelson said. 'But I just love watching that show.'

If Ari Gold (who has really gone downhill since PCU and the early seasons of the show) buzzed me up because Vinnie Chase and crew wanted to have a plot that involved the hardcore and fastpaced life of a sports blogger, you better believe I would be all over it. As for what happens in the episode, Phil was pretty much vague.
'It was two days of shooting kind of a golf scene where Ari is trying to get Vinnie in a movie,' he said. 'I don't know what I can say or can't say.'
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it involves some women, drugs, Turtle-based shenanigans and somewhere along the lines, some sort of party. Or maybe, just maybe they drink beer while they play golf.

Arizona Super Bowl XLII Parties: Telling You the Way It Really Is

So, are you looking for party info for Super Bowl parties in the Phoenix area? I'll tell you where the parties are at and give you something of what to expect. Because I like to be helpful and all.

Party Links.. Last year I gave you a ton of Super Bowl party links because I was going. This year, I'm not going so I am bitter and only giving you a few links. The best website to check out is SuperBowlPartyHQ.com to get links and interviews about the various parties this year. The Arizona Republic has this list of Super Bowl events. Skeets at Deadspin has identified at least two uh classic Super Bowl parties in the mix you might want to check out.

Celebrity Watching. Remember, you should never believe the hype. For example, just because a celebrity is a listed as a host/guest for a party, doesn't mean that he or she will actually go to the party. Last year, Terrell Owens was supposed to be going to tons of parties the same night. Even with his mad partying skillz, there is no way with the traffic in Miami that he could be at all of them.

That being said, if you are at enough parties and cool places around town, you will run into some very random people. For a while last year, I thought I was being stalked by Jeremy Piven because he seemed to be everywhere that I was at. Mr. Piven, of course, has no need to stalk me, as he usually had at least two women about his person at all times.
