Patriots Super Bowl Ring Auctioned on eBay, Received No Bids

Super Bowl XXXVI RingI'm one of the 10 people in the world that has yet to make a purchase on eBay, mainly because I have no use for a potato chip that looks like Jesus (that's what people sell on eBay, right?). However, if I had an extra $50,000 burning a hole in pocket, I probably would have jumped at the chance to own a piece of NFL history, as a member of the Super Bowl XXXVI champion New England Patriots recently auctioned his ring on eBay. It received no bids.

According to USA Today's NFL blog, The Huddle, the ring belonged to a player who was on all three Super Bowl-winning Patriots teams.

Joe Andruzzi Wants to Play for the Jets

Guard Joe Andruzzi officially became a free agent yesterday, following his release from the Cleveland Browns. It didn't take long for him to become a salesman either. Almost immediately his agent began pinpointing teams he'd like to play for; one of those teams was the New York Jets.

"I know [Andruzzi] would love the chance," Joe Linta said, "to come in and visit with [Jets coach] Eric [Mangini]."
Andruzzi played on the New England Patriots from 2000-20004, the same time Eric Mangini was their secondary coach. Perhaps the familiarity will spark some kind of mutual interest.

If nothing else, you can never have enough talented veteran experience on a team. Andruzzi has been in the NFL for 11 seasons and played in 122 games (103 starts).
