Tito OrtizThe legend deserved the benefit of the doubt. He deserved the chance to go into the cage against another top fighter, to measure himself up, to see where he stands in the modern MMA world.

But after last night's loss to Forrest Griffin, now we know that the legend of Tito Ortiz is almost all that we have left.

Brazil Should Include Jiu-Jitsu and MMA in 2016 Olympic Celebration

Just one week ago, an international contingent descended upon Barcelona in an athletic competition composed of greats from around the world, including the U.S., Japan, Brazil, Poland, Finland, Australia, France, Iceland and more. Just one week before that, in Dallas, another collection of sportsmen from around the globe came together for a different athletic event. This one boasted athletes from the U.S., Croatia, Belarus, the UK, Denmark and more.

The former was the Abu Dhabi Combat Club championship, a submission wrestling tournament that emphasizes jiu-jitsu, while the latter was UFC 103, representing mixed martial arts. With Rio de Janeiro being chosen as the host site of the 2016 Olympics, Brazil's role in the formation of jiu-jitsu and MMA, and the continuing popularity boom of both sports, it seems clear that both jiu-jitsu and MMA deserve to be included in the Olympic celebration.

Stephan Bonnar: Even at 44, Mark Coleman Still Dangerous

Since his April 2005 slugfest with Forrest Griffin, a fight which helped launch the UFC to its current place in the sports landscape, Stephan Bonnar has been a consistent crowd favorite.

In January, Bonnar returned from a serious knee injury, but dropped a decision to top prospect Jon Jones. Now, he looks to get back into the win column at July's UFC 100, and will have to do so against UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman.

Bonnar recently took some time to speak to FanHouse about his "lifetime contract" with UFC, what Coleman has left in the tank at age 44, and how he plans to beat "the Hammer."

Best Young MMA Prospect: Jon Jones? Ryan Bader? Cain Velasquez?

During our FanHouse UFC 99 live chat, we got an interesting question from a reader: Who is the best young fighter in MMA? Mike Chiappetta and I discuss below.

UFC 98 Morning After: How Will Anyone Beat Lyoto Machida?

Lyoto Machida winsThe light heavyweight division is the most talented weight class in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but after watching Lyoto Machida dominate Rashad Evans for the title Saturday night at UFC 98, I'm having a very hard time seeing how anyone is going to beat him any time soon.

That might sound like a crazy thing to say, because upsets happen all the time in mixed martial arts, and the light heavyweight title has changed hands four times in the last two years. But the fundamental way to win a fight is to hurt your opponent without getting hurt yourself, and there's no one better at that than Machida.

Houston Alexander Breaks Hand, Out of UFC 98 Matchup

UFC light-heavyweight brawler Houston Alexander has broken his hand, forcing him out of his UFC 98 matchup with Andre Gusmao.

The news was first reported on the UFC's Twitter page.
