Josh Burkman Set to Return on Nov. 20

Former UFC welterweight Josh Burkman will fight for the first time in nearly 13 months when he headlines a local "Throwdown Showdown" card on Nov. 20 in Orem, Utah.

FanHouse confirmed with the promoter earlier this week that Burkman (18-8) has signed to face another former UFC competitor, The Ultimate Fighter 5's Brandon Melendez (22-14) in a catchweight bout at 180 pounds.

UFC 90: Josh Burkman Misses Weight, Thiago Alves (And Everyone Else) Makes Weight

Welterweight Josh Burkman came in overweight today at the UFC 90 weigh-in, showing up at 173 pounds for his fight with Pete Sell.

By rule, Burkman will get an hour to try to lose two pounds and get down to the 171-pound limit. If he's not able to make weight, it's not known yet whether the fight will go on, but it most likely will. (UPDATE: Burkman got down to 171 on his second attempt, an hour later.)

All other fighters made weight, including Thiago Alves, who was the subject of much speculation after coming in three pounds overweight for his last fight, against Matt Hughes at UFC 85.

Both fighters in the main event made weight with room to spare: UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva came in at 184, while challenger Patrick Cote came in at 183.

UFC Puts Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Burkman Fight Online for Free

At YouTube, you can watch these highlights from Saturday night's Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Burkman fight:

Finding UFC fights on YouTube is something of a crapshoot. Sometimes highlight videos, like the one above, are posted by UFC. Sometimes full fights are illegally uploaded. Sometimes there's nothing.

But UFC.com has done something pretty cool: It posted the entire Hazelett-Burkman fight online. I just watched it, and it's a high-quality video with none of the bugs and glitches that often come with online video. If you haven't seen the fight, it's highly recommended.

Obviously, UFC is never going to post pay-per-view main events for free online, but posting undercard fights as a promotional vehicle makes a lot of sense. UFC is way ahead of the other sports leagues when it comes to online video.
