Quarterback
• Kyle Orton, Broncos - Orton sat out the second half on Sunday with an ankle injury. He'll be tested early this week and Chris Simms will take a lot of snaps with the first team as we wait to see how severe Orton's injury is.
Running Back
• Ronnie Brown, Dolphins - Brown limped off of the field during the third quarter of Sunday's game. X-rays were negative, but the MRI results have not yet been seen. Brown is believed to have a severe ankle sprain, and unfortunately for the Dolphins, he may not be ready to play in Thursday's Week 11 game. Look for a large dose of Ricky Williams.
• Brian Westbrook, Eagles - Westbrook was knocked out of the game on Sunday in the fourth quarter with another concussion. His season may be in jeopardy.

Quarterback
• Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks - Hasselbeck revealed that his shoulder was sore after throwing 51 passes on Sunday. He even banged it up a bit in the first quarter. He'll be given Wednesday off but expects to play in Week 10.
• Jason Campbell, Redskins - Campbell mildly sprained his ankle against the Falcons on Sunday but is expected to be fine for his Week 10 matchup.
Running Back
• Glen Coffee, 49ers - Coffee suffered a concussion during a kick return in Week 9. Since the 49ers play on Thursday there isn't enough time to medically clear the running back. He's already been ruled out for Week 10.

The Early Games
New England (4-2) at Tampa Bay (0-6): Tom Brady threw for six touchdown passes last week, five in one quarter alone. And to be honest, it gets easier for him this week in London against the Bucs. Expect fireworks from the Patriots offense, as Brady is beginning to click with Randy Moss, and he's extremely happy that Wes Welker is back in action.
On defense, the Buccaneers don't have the speed or skill at the cornerback position to defend against Brady and the Patriots' aerial attack. On offense, the Bucs are young and inexperienced -- especially at the quarterback position where Josh Johnson is already looking in the rear-view mirror at competition from Josh Freeman. It probably wouldn't surprise you to know that offensive line continuity is a good thing , but you may not realize just how important it is.
After looking at the first month of the season, it seems pretty clear that if you can keep your offensive line together, there's a pretty good chance you'll be a winner.
Five weeks into the NFL season, only 10 teams have started the same five offensive linemen every week. Of those 10 teams, seven have winning records including the surprising Bears. 49ers and Jets and the undefeated Giants. Combined those 10 teams are 28-18 this year.

Julius Peppers isn't happy. He wanted to be anywhere but in Carolina this year, but when the Panthers franchised him, he was left with no choice but to return to the Panthers for another season.
Things could be worse. He's getting paid $16.7 million this year as the team's franchise player. After watching every snap of the Cowboys' game, it's hard to say he's earning it.
Two years ago, Peppers picked up only 2.5 sacks in an extremely disappointing season. But he bounced back last year to record 14.5 sacks. With the way he played on Monday, it's hard to see him getting back to double digits this year.
If there's anything in sports that would qualify as the opposite of Joe Dimaggio's epic 56-game baseball hit streak, it may be what Flozell Adams has cooking for the Cowboys so far in 2009.
Three games into the NFL season, Adams has been fined three times. The third wallet hit, a $7,500 blow, came down Wednesday, as Adams was punished for kicking at Carolina's Julius Peppers on Monday night (video here courtesy of Digital Sports Daily).
Adams was fined $5,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty in Dallas' Week 1 win at Tampa Bay, and $12,500 for two incidents in a Week 2 loss to the Giants -- one of which was a trip on Justin Tuck that ended with Tuck injuring his shoulder.

It's a day that haunted the Carolina Panthers and quarterback Jake Delhomme all offseason. The Panthers posted a 12-4 regular-season record and a well-earned NFC South title, plus the right to host a divisional round playoff game. On January 10, the Cardinals came to Carolina -- and Delhomme imploded. He committed six turnovers (five interceptions and a fumble) to help Arizona roll to a 33-13 win. The whole 2009 season will be Carolina's effort to wipe that horrible memory away.
