Vince Young: I Don't Want to Be the Titans' Backup, But I Have No Choice

Titans quarterback Vince Young appeared on ESPN Thursday in an attempt to clear up previous comments in which he said he wants to start somewhere even if it's not in Tennessee, and then said through his agent that he wasn't looking for a trade. But while Young seems to have accepted that he's Kerry Collins' backup, he didn't really clear up much of anything.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings: 2009 Early Version

FanHouse's crack squad of savvy fantasy football personnel put our five heads together and amassed consensus rankings for non-keeper, standard scoring leagues. We'll update as the season gets closer, but this is our "incredibly early yet still fun" version.

Was last season the year of the quarterback or what? You still had the old reliables like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner and Donovan McNabb doing their thing, but a whole new crop of passers have elevated themselves. Aaron Rodgers, Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler led the way for the youth movement. You could have even waited toward the end of your draft and landed stud QBs in Matt Ryan and Tyler Thigpen (who would have been waiver-wire fodder). Team all that with Tom Brady's Week 1 injury, and we had a really interesting season. Let's see how they fall out presently for 2009.

Vince Young Making It Rain?

Titans quarterback Vince Young is dedicating himself in the offseason to regaining his starter role. Or not.

According to a TMZ.com video and article, Young decided to make it rain at a Nelly concert in Houston last week by pulling out a roll of money and showering a crowd with dollar bills. The longer, cuss-worded version of the evening is on the YouTubes and includes an interview with Vince Young. He gives his support to Houston rapper Willie D of the Geto Boys, who was recently arrested for alleged iPhone scam.

Kenny Britt to Titans: Fantasy Spin

The Tennessee Titans finally broke down and drafted wide receiver in the first round, and he's a dynamic talent. Kenny Britt, a Rutgers product, has the physical tools to be a star receiver in the NFL. There are some questions about his attitude, but it's hard to imagine the Titans not doing their due diligence on a kid after the fiasco they just went through with PacMan Jones (to be fair, it's apples vs. oranges: Britt doesn't have any legal issues, just is seen as arrogant by some). I have faith in Jeff Fisher and Kerry Collins to bring this kid along properly.

So, what does Britt's addition mean to the rest of the Tennessee offense from a fantasy perspective?

Titans Add Patrick Ramsey

Patrick RamseyAnother former Denver quarterback is on the move, though I doubt this transaction will register as high on the excitement scale as the Jay Cutler trade to Chicago.

Tennessee has agreed to terms with Patrick Ramsey, who served as Cutler's backup for the past two seasons. Ramsey's only action last season came at the tail end of a 41-7 blowout loss to the Jets -- he completed two-of-three pass attempts for 19 yards. The Titans will be Ramsey's fourth team, following Denver, the Jets and Washington.

Vince Young Wants to Beat Out Kerry Collins as Titans' Starting QB

When the Tennessee Titans re-signed quarterback Kerry Collins to a two-year, $15 million contract last week, they effectively announced that they had no faith in Vince Young's ability to be a starter. Teams just don't sign 36-year-old quarterbacks to eight-figure contracts when they used the third pick in the draft on a quarterback three years earlier -- unless they think that draft pick was a mistake.

Titans Ink Kerry Collins Through 2011

This morning the Titans and Kerry Collins were "far apart" on a new contract and the team was ramping up efforts to re-sign their other backup, Chris Simms.

This afternoon NFL Network's Adam Schefter reported that the two sides are now very much on the same page -- Collins has agreed to a two-year, $15 million contract with $8.5 million guaranteed. Not necessarily earth-shattering news, as head coach Jeff Fisher indicated several times this offseason that the team would like to have Collins back as its starter.

Tennessee Titans: Trying to Forget That Ugly Ending

Because the NFL season never ends, we present our 2009 Offseason Roadmaps for front offices to navigate through the summer.

The Titans' 2008 season ranks as one of the greatest in team history. After a couple of years of either just making or just missing the playoffs, the Titans took a big step forward, finishing the season with the NFL's best record (13-3). Rookie running back Chris Johnson emerged as a big-play threat and Kerry Collins not only took over the starting quarterback job from Vince Young but proved that he has some life left in his arm.

Minnesota Vikings: All We Need Is a Quality Quarterback

Because the NFL season never ends, we present our 2009 Offseason Roadmaps for front offices to navigate through the summer.

In an NFC that is heading into the offseason without a clear favorite, the Minnesota Vikings have almost all the pieces to be the presumptive favorite. They have an outstanding defensive line, an improved secondary and the best running back in the business. They also have a very good offensive line and thanks to Bernard Berrian, the receiver corps no longer is a joke.

Word on the Street: Eagles, McNabb Working on New Deal

Just before Thanksgiving, Donovan McNabb's career in Philadelphia looked to be heading to its inglorious end. After getting benched in a blowout loss to the Ravens, there was nothing left to do but play out the season, pack up his stuff and get the hell out of town.

Then the Eagles won four of their final five games to sneak into the playoffs, made it to the NFC Championship before running into the Cards, and now McNabb appears to again be the team's quarterback of the future.
