Lil Wayne Name Drops Lane Kiffin in Latest Rap Song

Lane Kiffin, Lil WayneLane Kiffin's off-field comments have twice earned him reprimands from the Southeastern Conference this season. But now he's finally getting mad props -- assuming people still give mad props -- thanks to the rapper Lil Wayne. In Lil's newest track, Banned From TV, the Southern rapper includes this line, "Smoke weed, talk s--- like Lane Kiffin." Now Lane Kiffin has acknowledged the endorsement via Twitter, tweeting today, "looking forward to another great practice today and a huge game Saturday ... also a huge shout-out to Lil Wayne for boosting our street cred!"

Yep, two of the South's top gangsters are already in fine form. As for fans? Well, UT fans, are already talking about, wait for it, the recruiting benefits of Lil Wayne's lyrical endorsement. Wrote a reader, Alan, this morning in an e-mail to me, "Should help with recruiting. Especially in South Florida, Louisiana, Atlanta and Memphis."

But why stop with recruiting help? Now that he's been bound and gagged by the SEC, Lane Kiffin should hop on the gangster train and play this for all it's worth.

Lil Wayne Samples Elie Seckbach

Lil WayneElie Seckbach, the Embedded Correspondent, brings his exclusive video reporting to FanHouse. Check back regularly for more videos.

Kobe Bryant may be the best player in the NBA -- and some say the greatest of all time. Now that he's going for his fourth title, it's no surprise that hip-hop superstar Lil' Wayne dropped the hottest rap song of the year in honor of the Lakers star in a track titled, simply, Kobe Bryant.

What was a surprise, though, was that yours truly, FanHouse's own embedded NBA Correspondent, was sampled in the song -- including part of an interview I did with Orlando's Mickael Pietrus. Check out Kobe Bryant by Lil Wayne after the jump.

No Pre-Game Fireworks Between Kenyon Martin, Mark Cuban

Kenyon MartinDALLAS -- The pregame scene here at the American Airlines Center was calm before the start of Game 4 between the Mavericks and the Nuggets.

But the night is young.

Mark Cuban wouldn't talk much with reporters regarding his shouting match with Kenyon Martin's mom following Game 3 on Saturday night. Martin wasn't around to speak to reporters. But rapper Lil Wayne was here. He's sitting courtside before this steel cage match starts.

Lil' Wayne Is Not Only a Packers Fan, He Is Also a Blogger; Awesomeness Ensues

There are many things wrong with ESPN the Magazine (the Schappiness of most of all the articles, for starters, and the fact that most of the content is online) but there is also something so, so right about seeing "Lil Wayne" as a byline in an a blog entry on the magazine.

Even better? He volunteered to do this and he has awesome insights. Or observations anyway.
Hello, everybody.

This is the first entry in the blog I'm doing for ESPN The Magazine. I don't watch nothing but sports-no movies, no news, no television shows-so I thought this would be fun.

Because I watch so much sports, I like to think I know what's gonna happen. But with the NFL this year, some things have shocked me, some things have been just terrible. Like the Bengals. Damn. I kind of had a feeling things were gonna be bad, but I didn't want them to be this bad.

As a Packer fan, it's been pretty good so far. Aaron Rodgers has been wonderful, man. He's handled everything, and way more than just the football part. Of course it helps the Jets aren't doing nothing.
And that's not even close to all the great stuff. He calls out the Patriots for going downhill ... before Brady got hurt. Then he starts talking about his fantasy team but he dropped Ben Roethlisberger. And 2-1 isn't that great when it's a four-team league. (Kidding, LW, you're already my favorite rapper since Eazy.)

And seeing as how this is the second time today I've complimented The Mag, maybe I should rethink my decision to bash them a few paragraphs above. Or maybe Lil Wayne is just freaking awesome. Yeah, probably that.
