NBA Player Almost Gets Eaten by a Crocodile

Elie Seckbach, the Embedded Correspondent, brings his exclusive video reporting to FanHouse. Check back regularly for more videos.

Nathan Jawai of the Raptors is the first indigenous Australian player in the NBA. His story is unique, having grown up playing rugby, not basketball, he is very quick on his feet for a big man. In this video he talks to us about dangerous encounters he experienced in the Australian Outback, including swimming nose-to-nose with a crocodile, one of nature's most vicious killers. We also hear from Anthony Parker, Nathan's teammate.

NBA Draft Crystal Ballin': Memphis Grizzlies

Crystal Ballin' takes a team-by-team look at what should, could, and probably will happen in the June 26th NBA Draft.

There are only a few NBA teams you can unequivocally count out for the 2008-09 season at this point. Memphis is no lower than #2 (what up, Seattle!) on that list.

Picks: #5, #28

Needs:
Bigs, bigs, and bigs. Another two-guard to replace Juan Carlos Navarro and (eventually) Mike Miller would be nice, too.

Best case scenario: In Chris Wallace's dreams, Memphis works out a deal to land Michael Beasley ... without giving up Mike Conley. Conley, Rudy Gay and Beasley would look the fetus of awesome. Landing a magician like Chris Douglas-Roberts at #28 could be heaven.

NBA Draft Crystal Ballin': Atlanta Hawks

Crystal Ballin' takes a team-by-team look at what should, could, and probably will happen in the June 26th NBA Draft.

You want to know the real reason Billy Knight quit his job as Atlanta's GM earlier this summer? Because the Hawks have no draft picks! Billy Knight without draft picks is like an orca without kelp or Eddy Curry with birthday cake. He'd be on suicide watch if he didn't quit.

Picks: ... None! This is the saddest day of my life.

Needs:
The team most certainly needs at least another decent big body -- beyond Josh Smith and Al Horford, there's nothing. Unless the team a) wants to extend a 31-year-old Mike Bibby next summer, or b) still thinks Acie Law is an awesome prospect, another point guard would be desirable.

Best case scenario: Rival GM: "Why yes, I do think Mario West is worth my lottery pick!"
