NBA Draft Notes, June 2: Dell Curry? Never Heard of Him

* DraftExpress' Jonathan Givony reports Dallas loves Jordan Hill and could work out a deal with Washington for the No. 5 pick.

* Hasheem Thabeet discusses the difficult transition from soccer to basketball with The Baseline's Sean Deveney.

* More from The Baseline, this time reported by the incomparable Chris Littmann: one team exec who interviewed Stephen Curry at the Chicago combine asked the guard who his father was.

NBA Draft Notes, May 29: Here Comes DeRozan! And James Harden's Ego

* At the Chicago combine, players submit to interviews by team personnel. Lots of interviews. On Thursday, Chase Budinger was asked if he has any "friends with benefits" and Ty Lawson learned about an uncle he didn't know he had. The Sacramento Bee's Sam Amick has those stories and more.

* Amick also passes along the new sentiment that Oklahoma City wants USC prospect DeMar DeRozan at No. 3, leaving Ricky Rubio to the Kings at No. 4.

* According to DraftExpress' Jonathan Givony, James Harden canceled interviews with teams outside the top five picks. He will reportedly not work out for the Wolves, who pick No. 6, because Harden's crew believes he will land in OKC at No. 3 or Washington at No. 5. In other news, someone in Harden's crew is a lunatic in thinking it's impossible for the kid to fall to Minnesota or further.

NBA Draft Notes, May 28: Chris Wallace's Spanish Tea Leaves

* Memphis general manager Chris Wallace allegedly tells Spanish sports page Marca that the Grizzlies won't pass on Ricky Rubio, though there are matters to be worked out. The rumor out there has been that Wallace and the team's scouts love Rubio, but owner Michael Heisley is reluctant to take a risk on the young point guard, given the bad dissolutions with Pau Gasol and Juan Carlos Navarro. (And as with all things Ricky, this could very well be posturing.)

* Jrue Holiday can see himself going as high as No. 4 to Sacramento, the point guard tells Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress. (Ignore his fingers. Sam Presti wouldn't dare destroy the galaxy by pairing Holiday and Russell Westbrook.)

* The Baseline's Sean Deveney talks about Lester Hudson's strange path to the NBA Draft.

NBA Draft Notes, May 27: Obama Announces Pick For Royal Court

* President Obama endorses the candidacy of Tyreke Evans for the Kings at No. 4. (Seriously.)

* Joey Whelan of DraftExpress talks with French guard prospect Nando de Colo, who has the opportunity to go in the late first round with some good work-outs.

* ESPN's Chad Ford visits Jonny Flynn, who is getting some lottery heat.

* Meanwhile, the Bulls conducted a "secret" work-out involving Flynn and Patrick Mills. Not a very good secret, though!

NBA Draft Notes, May 26: All Ricky Rubio, All the Time

* The Oregonian's Geoffrey C. Arnold talks to various GMs about Ricky Rubio's leverage. Meanwhile, the Memphis Commercial-Appeal's Ronald Tillery reports the Grizz met with Rubio agent Dan Fegan in Spain Saturday. C-A columnist Geoff Calkins practically begs Memphis to draft the Spaniard.

* TrueHoop's Henry Abbott investigates the tape on Rubio to get fans' toes a'tingling while splashing a pot of cold water.

* Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman talks up the potential of a Clippers-Thunder swap involving Rubio and Blake Griffin. Steve Perrin of Clips Nation attempts to pour cold water on said rumor.
