Good News Pats Haters: Tom Brady Is Going to Hell

If Titans head coach Jeff Fisher is looking for a silver lining, something to motivate his team hours after getting throttled by the Patriots 59-0, maybe this is it: Tom Brady is going to Hell.

At least according to the Amazing Grace Baptist Church, which declared that New England's quarterback is destined for eternal damnation for his sinful existence in this life. Via NESN (via the Huddle)

Jeff Van Gundy Is Confused by Celebs, Fortunately Jimmy Traina Is Here to Help Him

For those that missed the petty announcer banter during last night's NBA Finals Game 3 (presumably you missed it because you were attending the most BA Live Blog in the land) about celebrity ladies, well, you better catch up quick.

Basically, Jeff Van Gundy was asked who the hottest celebrity in the Forum was, and he yelled Alyssa Milano's name. Milano, while a diehard LA fan who blogs about the Dodgers, was not there. He was referring to Vanessa Minnillo and proceeded to butcher the pronunciation of Nick Lachey's last name.

In other words, utter Van Gundy celebrity-related chaos. That's where Jimmy Traina, of SI Hot Clicks fame, comes in. Traina caught up with Van Gundy on the phone today to see if he had figured out how to distinguish hot female celebrities and if he wanted to change any of his picks, including his NBA Finals selection. He did not.
We just got off the phone with Jeff Van Gundy. He says he did mean Vanessa Minnillo, not Alyssa Milano. He said Minnillo was sitting behind the broadcast team and "her beauty made me starstruck and I just choked." We also asked Van Gundy if Milano was there, would he go with Minnillo or Milano. "Minnillo. That girl, wow," was his answer. When asked if he pronounced Nick Lachey's name wrong on purpose, Van Gundy said, "no, I had no idea how to say his name." Lastly, we figured we'd get a prediction from Van Gundy. "I said Lakers in 6 before the series and I still think it'll be Lakers in 6."
Aggressive all the way around for JVG, but I totally respect his refusal to back down. Sure, his celebrity knowledge is pretty weak, but I didn't hear Mark Jackson correcting him or anything.

Tony Romo Named Fun Fearless Male of 2008, Demands a Punchline

Tony Romo was honored today at a Cosmopolitan magazine party celebrating "Fun Fearless Males of 2008." Dane Cook and John Mayer were also among the honorees. Mmmmm awkward.

When asked what made him a fun and fearless male, Romo responded (no, I am not making this up), "Dane Cook, John Mayer ... if you date Jessica Simpson, I guess."

Simpson-ex Nick Lachey was honored by the magazine last year, so I guess there is something to that.

Well, and as the above YouTube (warning naughty language and really bad guitar playing) demonstrates, you are also fun and fearless if you are an NFL starting quarterback who loves to sing karaoke and grope your celeb girlfriend onstage. Bill Parcells would not approve.

Romo, Simpson Break Turkey Together

Let me just say I'm happy for Tony Romo, former undrafted free agent turned Deuce Bigalow. He got to spend Thanksgiving with Jessica Simpson, who has seemingly managed to get on with her life after divorcing the world's shortest former boy-band member, 4'8" Nick Lachey, in December 2005.

This isn't the first time Romo and Simpson have been linked -- a year ago we were having this very conversation -- but this time it's SERIOUS. Or something:
On Thanksgiving, [Romo] led the Cowboys in a spanking of the New York Jets at Texas Stadium. Then he showered and headed over to Hotel ZaZa to join Ms. Simpson and her parents ... for a Thanksgiving meal at Dragonfly.

And the family time didn't stop there. The next day, Tony joined the Simpson family for a journey to Waco to visit Jessica's grandparents.
First, I'm glad the Dallas Morning News's Alan Peppard included the part about Romo showering. Otherwise, I would've just assumed he showed up at dinner in his uniform. Second, expect Romo to hold a press conference later this week announcing he's now a Branch Davidian.

In less upbeat news, Simpson's friend Cacee Cobb -- you might remember her as the homewrecker during the Newlyweds series -- and her man friend, Donald Faison (Turkelton of Scrubs fame), joined Tony and Jessica for the Turkey Day festivities. Carla is not impressed.
