Baltimore at Tennessee (4:30 PM EST): I think that whole "don't trust your rookie quarterback on the road" stuff is tossed out the window when your defense is scarier than that Texas Chainsaw Massacre guy.

Riddle me this. What makes Joe Flacco, the undisputed question mark for the Ravens, any worse than Kerry Collins, the undisputed question mark for Tennessee? Check the stats.

Saturday Games

Atlanta at Arizona (4:30 PM ET): I said a few days ago that I thought this was the perfect situation for Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan (rookie play-caller, first playoff game, up against a struggling team with a spotty defense). In reality, it is really a perfect match-up for both teams. Atlanta gets to go on the road against the only playoff team they'd want to play. And in the past six weeks, Arizona has defeated only two teams, who have a combined record of 6-26.

For the Cardinals, they are getting an inexperienced playoff team at home, where they always seem to play better. Think about it -- out of the Eagles, Falcons, Giants, Vikings, and Panthers, the Cards would have almost certainly picked Atlanta to face in in their first-ever home playoff game in Arizona.

Yet I think Atlanta pulls this one out. Not counting the passing explosion against the Seahawks in Week 17, Kurt Warner has been off lately, and now the Cardinals have to deal with all this Larry Fitzgerald off the field stuff. That actually brings me to an off topic: You know how we live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty? If you're an athlete (or public figure), you are guilty as soon as anyone accuses you of something. It is rather ridiculous.

St. Louis (2-13) at Atlanta (10-5): If Atlanta takes care of business here, they could be facing the Arizona Cardinals at home in their first playoff game. Could a scenario get any better for a rookie quarterback? Hey Matt Ryan, I know it is the playoffs and all, but this is one of the worst sports franchises in the history of football. Also, they've won just one game since Veterans Day.

If this shakes out, Ryan might be the most blessed kid since the one Mary conceived.

Baltimore (9-5) at Dallas (9-5): This is just the start of what should be now called "The Best Week 15 Slate of Games of All Time." Both these teams desperately need a win for playoff implications, with the Steelers, Eagles, and Falcons all watching verrrry intently in their own regard. Tony Romo and company are averaging 23.7 points per game while Ray Lewis and his revived wrecking crew are giving up a stingy 15.2. In the famous words of Jack Nicholson, "Something's gotta give." I think the Dallas defense, who has locked down the last three games and is allowing just over 12 points in those games, rattles Joe Flacco and the 'Boys move a step closer to becoming the 2007 New York Giants of the playoffs.

Tony, remember this -- even Phil Mickelson can win a major championship every now and again.

Tampa Bay (9-4) at Atlanta (8-5): It is nice that the the NFC South is playing Nikki Hilton to the NFC East's Paris, creating a competitive rivalry for best division in the league. The South is professional, successful and downright fun to watch, as you could see Monday night. I am still riding the "Matt Ryan for MVP" train directly into the station, and he is getting a lot of help from the likes of Brett Favre, Drew Brees and Kurt Warner, who haven't exactly been lighting it up the last few weeks. Both are coming off a loss last week, so if either one of these teams want to keep playoff hopes alive, they must card a victory.

Explain this to me -- we have flex scheduling but can't make this one a primetime event? I don't get it.

Minnesota (7-5) at Detroit (0-12): I'm a huge fan of the "Well, if the Lions are going to win, this is the game to do it" theory. But they're going to stop Adrian Peterson? Really? Sure, it might be their best shot to win, but how does AP not go for 200 yards and three touchdowns in this game?

Also, I'd like to bring up this point we FanHousers discussed the other day. If you had to start your team around one player, who would it be? I initially thought Peterson until I realized that, as good as he is, running backs can go down with any injury (see Tomlinson, LaDainian) and never be the same. I heard a few names go around, like Justin Tuck and Albert Haynesworth. I really believe I'd go with either Matt Ryan or Mario Williams. You'd never go receiver because there are too many out there (unless you were Matt Millen). You want a young defensive player, like Williams, or a quarterback that can win, like Ryan. What are your thoughts?

Baltimore (7-4) at Cincinnati (1-9-1): If I asked you at the beginning of the season the following question, "Would Joe Flacco have a better year than Carson Palmer," you'd have three responses.

"Who is Joe Flacco?"

"What team does he play for?"

"Who is Joe Flacco again?"

Like most fans, I can't believe in the Ravens until they are preparing themselves for their first round playoff game. But Flacco has been better than anyone could have expected this season, and it must be nice for Ravens fans to see that. Honestly, do you think a single person in Baltimore thought before the season started that there was such a thing as a competent quarterback on their roster?

Tampa Bay (7-3) at Detroit (0-10): For all the extremely negative things you could say about the Lions, one thing needs to be noted: Detroit has been competitive the last four weeks. Granted, they still are losing and could easily be the first winless team in a non strike-season since 1976, but it isn't like they're falling behind 21-0 in every game as they were earlier this year. That said, when people this week are e-mailing me with things like, "Hey buddy, was thinking about starting Jeff Garcia in fantasy over Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Cassel and Donovan McNabb," you know things aren't perfect in Detroit.

Also, for Detroit fans, I'm a little disappointed the Super Bowl isn't in their town this year like 2006. What a football upper that would be, to have a team this bad around all season long, only to know that you at least have the Super Bowl in your digs to get you through the year.

Denver (5-4) at Atlanta (6-3): It isn't a coincidence that the two breakout teams this season have a ton of similarities, mostly with quarterback. In the five wins for Denver, Jay Cutler has had passer ratings of 93.3, 96.1, 107.9, 109.6 and 137.5. In the Falcons' six wins, Matt Ryan has racked up ratings of 94.1, 116.1, 120.6, 134, 137, and 138.4. On the flip side, in all seven of the combined losses with these two, neither quarterback had a rating higher than 77.8. Why did I clutter your screen with all these numbers? To tell you that for either of these teams to win, their young passer has to have a great game. I'm picking the Falcons because it is a lot easier to free up the air attack with Michael Turner as your running back compared to a dude that enjoys stealing luggage.

Buffalo (5-3) at New England (5-3): Hey, it's one of those games where both teams are in desperate need of a win to continue their playoff hopes and not totally crap the bed on the season! Good times. Trent Edwards was pitiful last week, an adjective that Matt Cassel is growing fond of. Want to know an interesting stat? Marshawn Lynch hasn't rushed for more than 83 yards in a game this season. I'm fairly certain you can look right at the ground game to understand why the Bills have lost three of their last four. Make that four of their last five.
