Broncos at Bills: The Tale of Two New Eras

To get you ready for week 1, FanHouse is previewing all 16 NFL games. Here is the Buffalo Bills/Denver Broncos preview.

2006 Records: (Click names for 2007 preview)

Denver Broncos: 9-7 (3rd in AFC West)
Buffalo Bills: 7-9 (3rd in AFC East)

2006 Head-to-Head:

No Game. (Broncos 28 - Bills 17 in 2005)

When the Broncos have the ball: The Bills couldn't stop the run last season, while the Broncos consistently ran all over teams. Does anyone actually think the Broncos will take an alternative approach on Sunday? I certainly don't.

Travis Henry, another brand new Denver running back, will get plenty of carries against a Bills defense that ranked 29th in the NFL last season; a Bills defense that no longer has Takeo Spikes or London Fletcher. However, what they do have is rookie linebacker Paul Posluszny -- a standout from Penn State who figures to excel in the NFL.

The Broncos will also aim to get second-year quarterback Jay Cutler comfortable in his first opening weekend start. Once the run is established, keep an eye out for a long play action pass. It could be Henry, Henry, Culter-to-Javon Walker all day long.

Peerless Price on Michael Vick: 'He's the Nicest Person, a Great Guy'

Not everyone thinks Michael Vick is a bad guy; just ask his former teammate Peerless Price.

"It's stunning to hear all the negative stuff," Price said. "It hurts me to the heart to hear the things they say about him because I know the guy, I played with the guy for 2 1/2 years. I know the type of person he is. He's the nicest person, a great guy. He's the most down-to-earth big-time athlete I've been around, and that's saying a lot. To hear people say he's an arrogant athlete who thinks he can do what he wants and that he's on top of the world, I know that's not him."
Unfortunately for Vick, I don't think character witnesses are going to help him at this point. Despite what some former teammates and friends say, there are at least four cooperating witnesses that say he's a brutal dog fighter and killer. And that's not even including his co-defendant Tony Taylor, who may also be preparing to out Vick as a ruthless and vicious man.

Sadly, everyone has two sides and over the last few years, we've seen both of Vick's. We've seen him be a great teammate, a good friend, an excellent son and a fantastic community worker. But, we've also seen him be a horrible teammate, a spoiled athlete, a dirty lover and an illegal dog fighter.

Price may want to believe all of this negativity is unwarranted, but it's not. Vick has done some horrible things and it's only a matter of time before he pays for them.
