Super Fantasy Football Reality Check: The Dust Is Settling and We Love DeAngelo

If you owned DeAngelo Williams all season -- and surrounded him with quality "teammates" -- the odds are pretty good you were still playing meaningful fantasy football this weekend. If you were, you enjoyed another off-the-charts fantasy night from DeAngelo. Seriously, four touchdowns in the Meadowlands against the Giants? This guy is just stupid studly. He's also a great example of why your league should have its championship in Week 16, because the Panthers' game next week is meaningless. He could easily see a drastic decrease in his workload.

On the opposite side of the spectrum we have Kurt Warner. The second-highest scoring passer for the entire season ended up being the biggest Brutus Boy of them all. In case you were counting -- and odds are, you were -- that was a 1.5 point performance yesterday. If your league still plays in Week 17, he should be due for a bounce-back at home against Seattle. The Cardinals really need some confidence at this point, so I bet they go all out, at least until they get a nice lead.

Eye on the Prize: Hail Mary Candidates for Hardcore Fantasy Footballers

First, a disclaimer. This list is not necessarily a go pick this guy up right now type deal. If you play in an 8-12 team league and you don't have injury or ineffectiveness issues, this list is not for you. If you, however, play in a 16 or more team league with a deep bench, and you have been sitting there waiting on Willis McGahee to show up with a pulse for the past couple weeks, well, I may have something for you.

We call them "Hail Mary" choices because picking up some of these guys would be like throwing a Hail Mary pass. The odds of it winding up helping your team are slim, but there's enough of a chance FTW to hurl it up there. If you have dead weight on your deep bench, let us consider the following dudes.

I've attempted to list them in the order of their likelihood at helping you.

And, actually, the top guy is a sleeper is most leagues for this week ...

Maurice "MoMo" Morris, Seahawks
He's overtaken Julius Jones in the Seahawks backfield. Sure, he's done very little all season -- save for a 100-yard game in Week 12 -- but he gets the hapless Rams in Week 15. You could do worse.

Is Chris Henry Battling For a Roster Spot?

Titans' 2008 first-rounder Chris Johnson is already showing that he's ready to step in and contribute. But Johnson's success emphasizes how far 2007 second-rounder Chris Henry still has to go to become a consistent NFL back.

As the Tennessean points out today, there's an outside chance that Henry could end up being cut, with 2006 seventh-rounder Quinton Ganther taking role as the No. 3 back. While Johnson's 66-yard run against the Rams got noticed, Ganther was nearly as impressive (against the Rams backups) as he rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. He showed surprising speed, breaking free for a 45-yard dash. Henry was adequate, as he had nine carries for 38 yards.
