Vols' Recruit Bobby Maze Freestyle YouTube Video; Smacks on Maryland

Above is a video of Tennessee JUCO recruit Bobby Maze with his hit rap, "I Put It On For Tennessee". If you're a Vols fan, you have to love to see a guy coming in with this kind of confidence. Yet rhymes that go "I'm the only Ten-that-you-see" aren't that nice.

Still, he finds time to crack on Maryland, the school he tried but couldn't get in to. Right at the :54 mark, he says this:
B Maze, be amazed, this thing is not a game. Who am I to blame? Maryland, never change.

BMaze's rap was transcribed by "The Dude" at VolNation message board and can be read after the jump.

Feel the Frustrations Boil as Jerry Manuel and Carlos Beltran Tussle With Brian Runge

One of the main frustrations Met fans had with former manager Willie Randolph was his "lack of fire", certainly during those times where players could have used some protection during arguments with umpires. New manager Jerry Manuel changed that by going out to protect Carlos Beltran after he argued a strike call, after which Runge made it a point to extend the argument by taking his mask off and extending the argument. Manuel went out to protect his star because he felt he was baited. Manuel was then bumped by Runge (yes, the manager was bumped by the umpire) and then was run. That's where the video picks up as Manuel flips a lid at Runge. Moments later Beltran, who had the audacity to call Runge's move "weak", was run as well.

No, you're not supposed to argue balls and strikes. But players do it mildly and are shown a little leeway. Beltran however, was confronted by Runge, and there was no call for Runge bumping the manager. Kudos to Manuel for protecting his player. Unfortunately for the Mets, it didn't work ... they lost 11-0 to the Mariners, who have the worst record in baseball.

Random YouTube Magic: Boston College's Al Skinner on Diff'rent Strokes

The opening sees us in the Drummond living room. Willis and Kimberly are chilling out when the doorbell rings. Mr. Drummond heads to the door ... opens it up ... and in walks ... Boston College head basketball coach Al Skinner.

Coach Skinner is bent (for some reason Mr. Drummond calls him "Ted") because someone had been giving Dudley (they say it is his son ... but it may be ex-BC star Jared Dudley) some wine. That, it seems, is just the least of his worries.

Okay, okay, this really isn't Al Skinner. It is actor Le Tari who played the part of Ted Ramsey, father of Dudley Ramsey ... who was Arnold Jackson's best friend on Diff'rent Strokes. This is the classic "very special" episode where Dudley was "touched" by the guy who runs the bicycle shop.

But, dude was a dead on doppelganger for Al Skinner.

Random YouTube Magic: Be Competitive!

The Melbourne Demons turn 150 years old this year, and they're celebrating by being the absolute worst team in the Australian Football League. They lost their first two games by an average of 99.5 points, and going into this weekend's match with the defending champion Geelong Cats, Demons coach Dean Bailey had one goal for his team -- being competitive. Clearly, he believed that if he said it enough times, he would make it true.

He almost did, actually. Geelong defeated Melbourne by only 30 points. Maybe for his next press conference, Bailey should say "Win" 27 times.

Random YouTube Magic: NFL - Where Amazing Happens

Inspired by what is widely considered to be one of the greatest upsets of all time, YouTube user "Josmos Factory" decided to create an NFL commercial about Super Bowl XLII using the NBA's "Where Amazing Happens" format.

If you're a fan of the New York Giants, this fan-made commercial is bound to give you Goosebumps. If you're a fan of the New England Patriots however, you're probably just glad it's finally baseball season.

Either way, hats off to Josmos Factory for putting together a great video and a fresh reminder that anyone can win on any given Sunday.

Random YouTube Magic: Tiger Woods Doesn't Need CineMagic to Juggle Golf Balls

Last weekend, I mentioned that this might be the best golf commercial ever, but acknowledged that Tiger Woods Juggles! was pretty good too. In fact, it created a whole generation of young (and not so young) golfers standing around on tee boxes emulating what many people initially thought was more moving pictures trickeration than Tiger Woods talent.

Well, if we've learned anything about the world's best golfer it's that he's never to be underestimated.

Impressive, no doubt, but I'd like to see John Daly juggle Hooters chicken wings while signing some fan's hindquarters.

Random YouTube Magic: Shaq Sings to Vlade

I guess Vlade Divac mentioned that he didn't think the Lakers could beat his Sacramento Kings in the (2002?) playoffs without having home court advantage. Whoops. Shaq is hilarious here, and while his improv skills are off the charts, his choice of ringtones is at the very least, questionable.

Random YouTube Magic: Tigers Woods Hole in One at TPC of Scottsdale

In 1997 it was called the Phoenix Open, but with sponsors paying out the nose for the right to let you know they're hosting a golf tournament, it's now known as the FBR Open. Whatever you call it, it all starts today in Scottsdale.

It's the most raucous experience on the PGA Tour, highlighted (or lowlighted, depending on how far the stick is up your butt) by the par-3 16th hole, a seemingly innocuous 159-yard hole with no real trouble to speak of (okay, there are five bunkers surrounding the green, but it's an easy 8-iron to a pretty generous surface).

Of course, once the gallery shows up (Clifford Roberts wouldn't definitely disapprove of calling this bunch "patrons") it's on like Donkey Kong. So if you're looking for something to do until the Super Bowl, watching fans heckle professional golfers is a good way to kill time.

Anyway, here are the YouTubes of Tiger Woods acing the 16th 11 years ago. In addition to the crowd going bonkers, I particularly enjoyed Woods' one-armed "raise the roof." Yep, that pretty much sums up the '90s.

Random YouTube Magic: The Billups Chant

Maybe I would understand this better if I hadn't yet hit puberty, or spent more time in the state of Florida (per the banners). But as is, I have to come to you, my dear readers, and ask for translation on this one. Or maybe it's a "you pick the caption" type thing, but with dramatic or lyrical interpretation straight from the heart. I get that he's saying players' names, but is this even pro-NBA?

Watch and be amazed. And kid, if you're out there, your Bronze Star is waiting in the Guggenheim.

Random YouTube Magic: 'The Downfall of the Dallas Cowboys"

Let me start by using this disclaimer: If you think that Hitler shouldn't be joked about in any way, do not press play. Also:

  • FanHouse does not endorse the position that Hitler was a Cowboys fan
  • FanHouse had nothing to do with making this video
  • This was made by using footage of the 2005 movie Downfall, which sees the last days of Hitler through the eyes of his secretary
  • The Cowboys were founded 16 years after Hitler died
  • There is very strong language printed in the subtitles.

Okay, that being said, this video has been making its way around the internets. It is the movie Downfall, but with the subtitles switched to show Hitler's displeasure when finding out the Dallas Cowboys were upset by the New York Giants in the playoffs. He does calm down when reminiscing about winning his fantasy football league, but feels the disappointment, nonetheless.
